He was wrong. When you are making statements that deal with major social/political issues and you screw up your facts that badly, you are going to get flamed. We would (and do) flame the other side when they make stupid and demonstrably false claims. No sympathy.
Not at all. I’m just saying Jefferson didn’t free slaves or advocate for abolition. Just stating a fact.
It is also noteworthy that Jefferson did in fact advocate for abolition of the slave trade and that was and is commendable.
