A short video showing Russia's new cathedral dedicated to the armed forces along with a neighboring memorial. The Cathedral and memorial were built mostly with private donations although the land was given by the city of Moscow.

And why do we give a rat’s ass about the Russian military and their religious proclivities? They are not our friends. Nothing has changed since the Cold War. Putin is still the same KGB dirtbag he’s always been. I will never understand the love for the Russians by many on this forum.
True, the Russians are not our friends. But then again, which nation really is?
As I see it, the two greatest threats to civilization are radical Islam and Red China (in that order). I’d rather see Russia with us than against us in the great struggles to come. We are natural allies in that regard.
The problem is that, as you noted, Putin is no Churchill. He cannot be trusted. But then again I’m not worried about Putin plotting to blow up an American city, or seize an American possession in the Pacific.

Note the whole history of Russian arms — including the fact that the crosses atop the spires sit on islamic crescents — commemorating the triumph of Christianity over muslim Kazan and the muslim Tartars...
I get the Anti-Russian thing historically. The odd thing right now is that the American left hates Russia and Russia has modest reforms and evolution with a fascinating culture so I hate the American left forever and have no problem with most Russians. Go ask younger Russians what they think of Putin as well as the older ex-Soviets.
Russians build Christian Churches while mosques are built in the US.
