Whether or not that is the patent #, doesn’t matter. It’s got that # associated with it now regardless. Why would anybody want that number associated with anything of theirs, unless it’s their ‘religion’ or some sort of sorcery involved?

And I suppose you believe the applicant gets to choose the patent number.

Or can have it changed by the patent office if they don't like the one they get assigned.
