Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Dear Father in Heaven,
Blessed Are You, Oh LORD,
Our God,
King of the Universe,
Ancient of Days,
Our Rock and Our Redeemer!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise,
For You Alone Are Worthy; You Alone Are Holy;
You Alone Are Righteous and Just;
And You Alone Are The One True God of The Universe!
How Wonderful Are Your Precepts;
How Precious Is Your WORD!
How Eternal and Sure Are Your Promises!
Abba Father,
In a world of duplicity,
Your Faithfulness Abides Forever!
You have established Your Covenant With Your People.
Your Word Declares it.
We pray For Your People,
According To Your Word,
According to Your Will,
And According to Your Promise.
Let Our Enemies Be Put To Shame and Confusion,
According to Your Word.
Thank You, Abba Father,
For Being Our Hiding Place,
Our Deliverer,
Our Rock,
and Our Redeemer!
Fill Our Days With Songs Of Deliverance,
For Ourselves,
Our Families,
Our Nation,
and For Your People Israel!
LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.
We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

I have never been to the Grand Canyon, but I have been to some other incredible places. Knowing how I responded to these other gorgeous vistas, which pale in comparison, I can only imagine what my reaction would be upon seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time. There is a three-letter word that describes it: WOW! However, no description is adequate. You just have to see it for yourself.
In modern conversational Hebrew the word gadol simply means BIG. It can mean big like a building, or large, like a pair of gym pants. It is one of those common words that can go with anything.
However, today's Hebrew Worship Word is a little different. It means to MAKE big, or to Magnify. The expression "Magnify the LORD" always presented a philosophical dilemma to me. How can we "make" God any BIGGER? Who are we to think we can do that? (that's so typical of me, pondering stuff I can't change or understand!)
Anyway, if we look at Today's word, we have a clue to that puzzle. When we "Magnify the LORD", we are NOT holding a magnifying glass over Him to make Him "bigger". We are, in fact, BOASTING of His Greatness, realizing His Magnificence (same root word as "magnify"), and expressing out loud our Wonder.
Like the Grand Canyon, though, no amount of description or boasting is adequate. You just has to seek Him yourself.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America!

I didn’t get to see it on a sunny day, though. Overcast and a bit dull. Spent the night there at the Kachina Lodge on the South Rim. Had to get going the next morning, so didn’t get to go down into it. If you’re up for a mule ride down into the canyon, that’s one way to see it. I do want to go back again, and to see the North Rim, too. Just went the one time back in 1992.

1992 was a good year. I rode a mule in the Sierra Madre above Puerto Valarta, all the way to a waterfall, and them dove into the pool below, way up in the mountains. I also went to Jamaica that year.
Ah...those were the days! :-)

My parents & I traveled by car cross-country from Nashville to San Diego for a 32 (or so) day trip. We were supposed to go to Los Angeles right after San Diego. The day before, we were in Tijuana. When we got back in the evening, all hell had broken loose in L.A. They had just read the not guilty verdicts for the cops involved in walloping Rodney King. Had we left San Diego a day earlier, we would’ve been stuck in the middle of the riots.
Gave L.A. a wide berth the next day (sadly, have yet to visit there - but I’d have rather gone in the ‘80s), but you could still see all the fires from the riots wafting out as far as San Bernardino, which we went through instead. Drove to Death Valley instead and then to Las Vegas, but we couldn’t go to the Strip at night because they were rioting there, too, and attacking White folks in cars. Then headed back east to Arizona and Grand Canyon and so forth.
Alas, all downhill from there after that. The Reagan Era that had turned the country around was headed into the toilet. Never the same since. :-(
