The current coronavirus outbreak is not an event prophesied in the Bible for the seven-year Tribulation. The world simply hasn't entered that time period yet. However, it is significant to bible prophecy, because it sets the stage for the near-term fulfillment of many end times bible prophecies.

This isn't surprising. Politicians take advantage of times of turmoil, disaster, and fear to implement changes people otherwise wouldn't accept. Here are just a few things to expect in the days ahead:

1) Calls for a Strong European Union Leader
2) Calls for Further European Union Integration
3) Calls for Increased Tracking of People
4) Calls to Replace Paper Currency with a World 
   Cryptocurrency 
5) Decreased Demand for Oil

I seem to recall reading about twenty years ago how something or other sets the stage For the End Times.

Whatever it was, the bullet points were about the same.

You’re absolutely correct, in fact millions believed that the end times were approaching in 1843-44 (the Millerite great disappointment).

These people are not wrong in their general approach to prophecy. On a cyclical basis, the world converges on the conditions for end times, systematic evil that can be overcome only by the return of Christ. But in each case so far, human intervention has been sufficient to restore the balance, or, the evil persisted unchecked but never became a global tyranny (something similar to China 1949 to present day).

This current situation does resemble the end times prophecy but I am sure that had we been on the internet in the 1940s we could have been making similar points about Hitler and the Nazis. I don’t imagine anyone would have been too surprised to see angels coming in their thousands from the heavens around 1945. But they didn’t.

We just don’t know when God will call the game and send Jesus to sort things out. This would be a helluva good time to choose IMHO.

The coronavirus is getting the masses to begin contemplating the acceptability for universal tracking. To my amazement we now see the left counter protesting the right to open the country back up. They want everything locked down in their half belief this will keep everyone safe. Wait until a vaccine for this or some other virus becomes available. The left will scream and mandate everyone get vaccinated and that your vaccination is certified, or tracked, in order to go out in public, to buy anything, or to hold a job.

But, the final universal mandate and acceptance of individual tracking will happen very quickly after the Rapture. It will have to.

When the Rapture occurs every government and every institution will instantly lose accountability of all their citizens or clients. There will be no death certificates so how will a government know who remains and who is gone through the Rapture? How will an insurance company, a bank, or anyone else know who is gone and who remains?

It's easy to see that after the Rapture most anyone could escape their, maybe heavily financially indebted, real identity. Who would know? Who would know if someone was Raptured or simply took advantage of the opportunity to go underground to escape debt, jail, or something else? Therefore, in very short order and in an effort to bring order from pandemonium, some world government entity will almost immediately demand under strict penalty of law that everyone get chipped or be subject to some type of personal, non-removable tracking device. This will absolutely be the only way to restore anything close to a functional society.

We should also keep in mind that Biblical text and modern interpretation are sometimes confused as being equally literal therefore requiring absolute specific fulfilment.

The Bible does not talk about implanted chips, this is a modern interpretation based on developing technology that sounds like “the mark of the beast in forehead or palm of the hand” required for buying or selling. For all we know, the intent of the Scripture is just generally to warn about a regime that requires obedience in thought and action. The details about implanted chips are not Scriptural, just a human interpretation (which is not to say they are wrong, they could be quite accurate).

One way in which this COVID-19 situation does resemble end time prophecy is that it was unleashed by the dragon, and towards the saints, and is part of an apparent campaign to destroy the saints. The extent to which this is (a) deliberate and (b) effective may establish how high grade it turns out to be in prophetic terms.

If your politically correct in-law says something to you about your failure to be a good citizen, that resembles Biblical prophecy too, but it doesn’t mean you are 99% likely to be raptured on the spot (although you may wish to be).

Interesting but for the fact that it’s Euro-centric. All prophecy is Middle-eastern-centric. Scripture repeatedly refers to this coming leader as “the Assyrian.” How does that fit Europe? The coming great leader will not be European, he will be middle-eastern. There will be no reborn western Roman empire but a reborn eastern Roman empire, most likely centered on Turkey.

I had never thought of that prospect before, but your conjecture on this is very insightful.

Yes, I can see it evolving that way. Revelation describes an economic collapse, and global famine (and as we know, that's just the beginning). Therefore, I always believed that the coming economic collapse will accelerate the global currency, and the mark of the beast.

But yes, after the Rapture, millions of us worldwide will suddenly be gone.

Financially, they will have to implement a global mechanism to track every monetary transaction and debt. Otherwise, a billion people on earth at the time could attempt to "fake their rapture" and drop off the system of taxes, accountability, and debt.
