Our Father in Heaven,
We Thank You For Your Glorious Words of Wisdom,
Such Words of Comfort and Strength!
The Waters indeed Roar and are troubled,
The Truth is Indeed Our Shield and Our Buckler!
And YOU ARE The TRUTH!
And The Mountains Indeed Shake
with the Troubles of this World!
But YOU, Oh LORD, are Our Refuge and Our Fortress,
Our God, In Whom We Trust!
Though the Whole Earth seems to rage against us,

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

I am a big fan of crossword puzzles. Many times there is a four-letter word, beginning with "A", that has this clue:

"To testify or assert as true."

Now, depending upon the crossing letters, this clue could mean either "AVOW" or "AVER". Today's Hebrew Word "ANAH" would also fit, if the author wanted to throw some Hebrew into the mix.

Yesterday we talked a little bit about courtroom testimony in order to understand that day's Hebrew Worship Word. Today's word enlarges upon that concept. Our three Scripture references show the word "Anah" means to heed or listen, but also to testify as true. And so, we see, the Psalmist, Abraham, and Jacob all using this word.

1. The Psalmist testifies to the Glory of God.

2. Abraham testifies that he is nothing but dust and ashes.

3. Jacob testifies that he has not cheated his employer.

As Believers, our testimony is what either attracts or repels people from wanting to know more about God. That is an important thing to think about!

They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors, we are all "Nazarenes."
