You can Make them Swarm or Die off;
It Is Your Call.
Even The dust of the earth is at Your Command!

Abba Father,
How Blessed it is,
To read Your Word!
Thank You For This Precious Wisdom!
It is a Joy to Commit Our Ways to You!

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

We are so used to the Greek, Latin, and English names for the various Old Testament, that we sometimes forget that they were originally in Hebrew. And, since Hebrew uses a different Alphabet (and sometimes eschews vowels!), it is easy to get confused. A lot of the words that I am sharing in this Daily Devotional are similar in sound. Sometimes they are spelled differently in English from one source to another. I will try to use the spelling I find in Strong's (Exhausting) Concordance, but sometimes I will use alternate spellings if I can't find the word in that impressive work. Anyway, here we have a word which rhymes with another similar word which we will explore later.

"Tehillah", which means to"sing praises, a new song, or to spontaneously bursting out in song, rhymes with "Tefillah", which means prayer. The plural in many Hebrew words is achieved by adding "im" to the end of a word. Therefore "Tehillim" would be the plural for "Tehillah", and "Tefillim" would be the plural for "Tefillah". That makes sense. But, just as in English, new words and meanings can be derived from root words, "Tehillim" is also the Hebrew word for the Entire Book of Psalms, and "Tefillim" is the word for the phylacteries, or the little leather boxes containing the Scriptures that Observant Jews use in their daily prayers (see Deuteronomy 6).

As I keep looking things up, I keep finding more Hebrew words for prayer, praise, music, singing, shouting, dancing, spinning, bursting into song, strolling and singing, bowing, kowtowing, and praying. I have a feeling this exploration of words will be going on for a while!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
