Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Last Night, we had very high winds. I lay in bed and could hear it blowing. Suddenly, there was a sound like a huge shriek, and this morning, I saw the source of the sound. A tree had been twisted and brought down by the wind, leaving a gnarled trunk that looked like a torn piece of rope. Of course, nobody is working right now, so I think that scarred and twisted tree will remain where it fell for a while.
Today's Hebrew Prayer Word describes a strident sound, like the howl of the wind or the shriek of a tree limb twisting and ripping. While I personally do not recommend shrieking in church, this Hebrew Verb does give us a wonderful picture of the amazing power of God. He is more powerful than the tree, because he made the tree. He is more powerful than the wind because He made the wind.
During the Quarantine, I have been watching College Courses on TV that have been offered free for a limited time. At first, I watched the Art and History lectures (each subject about 24 lectures, like a semester in College), but yesterday, I started binging on "The City of God" by St. Augustine. I just finished the Chapter on Creation (Book 11), and it was awesome. I will watch the remaining 13 lectures today...in between posting on FR, and practicing my instruments.
The windy night with its howls and shrieks reinforced the amazing lectures that I binged on yesterday!
And so, I won't get a degree watching these lectures, but I am NOT being idle. (It's called "Redeeming the Time".
