4 Reasons To Have A Crucifix In Your Home

1. We should have a crucifix in our homes because the saints have set this example for us.
2. It reminds us not to run from the tough stuff.
3. Our home is a “domestic church,” and it is a holy place.
4. The crucifix is a constant reminder that Christ has conquered sin and death, and ultimately conquered evil.

Discuss the issues all you want, do not make it personal.

“Saying EVERYTHING MUST be in the Bible is a Protestant tradition.”

I know of no Protestant tradition that says “everything must” be in the Bible - that’s not what Sola Scripture means. Further, the Trinity is clearly taught by scripture and scripture also records the deaths of the Apostles Judas and James.

I have quite a few Crosses. They do me fine. I carve a few too.

"They DO remind me of the price paid to give us God's love...no matter what happens. Yo this old man's mind, the ONLY reason to have a crucifix around, and not to be prayed to.

No one prays TO a crucifix. One prays to the Lord and the crucifix continually reminds one of His suffering and death.

Try to get over the idea that Catholics pray to a statue, image or even to a golden calf. I know it might be difficult to imagine that but you aren't too old to learn that lesson..and one CAN teach an old dog new tricks.

Absolutely intended for this forum..... Topic was Catholic..... And the Crucifixion is very central to this Good Friday solemnity....and absolutely nothing to do with the political.... Should have probably edited the title from the Diocesan with "Why "Catholics" should have Crucifixes in their homes"

Disclosure: Our home has 6 Crucifixes.... So yeah one does not forget.... But they are not for everyone.... I can appreciate that..... But all the same, there was NEVER a time when Jesus' Cross was standing empty.... An empty Cross without Christ can be construed as a symbol of a standard Roman execution - used for executing criminals of that day.... But to each his or her own....
Forum is correct.

The word Trinity isn’t in the Bible, and plenty of your fellow Protestants don’t believe in the Trinity. The Bible also doesn’t specify that the Trinity is one God in three persons. You have to go to Catholic teaching for that truth. Heck you have to go to the Church for the Canon of the Bible, and to the teaching of the Church that the Canon of the Bible is closed and that the books are infallible in matters of faith and morals.

This thread started off as the reasons to have a crucifix in your house (which some Protestants such as Lutherans and Anglicans have) and it was turned into an anti-Catholic everything thread. That says more about the posters than the Holy Catholic Church.

(I) Should have probably edited the title from the Diocesan with “Why “Catholics” should have Crucifixes in their homes”

It is never allowed for a poster of a thread to change the title from the title in the link.

That being said, you did not put in a link to the article you posted, but instead this was in the field for a link:
Diocesan.com. And it was not a hotlink.

Which goes to the website which is mostly items for sale.

And not to the article you posted.

Please provide a link to the article you posted.

Also, concerning the rest of your post to me, I do not debate with or argue with posters.
