Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

A young man whose last name happened to be "Strong" gave me my first Bible, a New American Standard Version, with bonded leather covers and a single ribbon bookmark. It was a "pew-sized" edition, and quite portable. He also gave me a book that was as big and heavy as a cinder block. Ironically, it was called "STRONG'S EXHAUSTIVE CONCORDANCE", and it contained every single WORD in the Bible and references to every appearance of the word. There was a running joke that "You had to be STRONG to use Strong's EXHAUSTING Concordance", but the amazing work is now available online, and we will be looking at it as we explore Music In The Bible. We will be looking at the Hebrew (and later, Greek) words used for PRAYER, and you will see that a lot of them are musical. I will give you the STRONG'S reference number, if you would like to study the word further. Just put "Strong's Concordance 2124( or whatever the number is)" in your search engine.
Today's work is Barak". It means to "Bless" and is often the very first word in many Jewish Prayers. It also means to kneel in humility before the Lord.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. " (Hosea 6:3, NIV)

Interesting in the Book of Judges, Deborah accompanied Barak into battle.
Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem, left that other site.
And looking forward to another look at Psalms and music.
