Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalms

Psalm 150

1 Praise the Lord.[a]

Praise God in his sanctuary;
    praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
    praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
    praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with timbrel and dancing,
    praise him with the strings and pipe,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
    praise him with resounding cymbals.

6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord.

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent Is Your Name Over All The Earth!
We Praise and Worship You;
For You Alone Are Worthy;
You Alone Are LORD;
You Alone Are The One True God of the Universe!
Blessed Are You Oh LORD, Our God,
King of the Universe,
Ancient of Days,
LORD of Hosts,
Rock of All Ages!

Everything that exists
Owes its very Existence to You, Father!
The Very Heavens Sing of Your Glory!
All of Creation is Your Handiwork,
And its Endless Variety and Beauty Speaks only of You!

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

My neighbor, who works in a World-Famous Cymbal Factory, told me sadly that he has to go on unemployment because of the Wuhan Virus. The Cymbal Factory had kept going for a week or so into the Quarantine, because the artisans who work there are not close to each other at all. (You can imagine how NOISY and dangerous it would be if all those people hammering brass were right next to each other!) But, as all the Bands, Orchestras, Music Schools and Stores, Concert Venues, and Restaurants are closed, they had no place to ship the Cymbals to. And so, the historic company which has been making cymbals for nearly 400 years, escaped genocide and the breakup of the Ottoman Empire, endured a family split which resulted in two cymbal companies, and became the Number One Cymbal Company in the World, has gone silent.

My friend isn't wasting his time though. He is wearing his ear-protection at the Range. He says that the Range is not nearly as noisy as his job!

Psalm 150 is an exuberant expression of Praise and Worship that pulls out all the stops. Musical instruments of all kinds are encouraged, but especially cymbals. The mystique surrounding cymbals is ancient and awesome. They not only make a big sound when struck, but keep reverberating, changing pitch and tone as they "simmer" down. The sounds of the cymbals are so awesome that they were used for Worship in the Temple of God. I can only imagine how huge the sound was when all of those Levites crashed their cymbals at the same time!

Cymbals are so "Royal" that the founder of the aforementioned cymbal company was given a name by the Sultan, which means simply, "Cymbal Maker". The Name stuck and became his family name, now renowned all over the world, Zildjian.
