Francis Calls for Participation in ‘Laudato Si’ Week This May

Pope Francis has renewed his urgent appeal to take care of God’s gift of creation.

Saying the earth no longer forgives, Francis expressed this in a video message to the world’s Catholics for Laudato Si’ week, May 16-24, 2020, for the fifth anniversary of the encyclical on the environment’s publication.

The Spanish message begins with the Pope posing the question: “What kind of world do we want to leave to those who succeed us, to the children who are growing up? (Laudato si’, 160).”

“Motivated by that question,” the Holy Father said, “I would like to invite you to participate in Laudato si’ week.”

The week, he explained, is a global campaign on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the Laudato si’ Encyclical Letter on the care of the common house.

“I renew my urgent call to respond to the ecological crisis,” Francis said, stressing: “The cry of the earth and the cry of the poor no longer forgive.”

Pope should be worried about lost souls. He’s worried about a fallen planet that won’t be healed until Jesus comes back.

“The cry of the earth and the cry of the poor no longer forgive.”

Apparently "ecological sins" are unforgivable. Another break from the Gospels.
