Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

(Music in The Bible)

Psalm 119

Psalm 119[a]

‎נ Nun

105 Your word is a lamp for my feet,
    a light on my path.

106 I have taken an oath and confirmed it,
    that I will follow your righteous laws.

107 I have suffered much;
    preserve my life, Lord, according to your word.

108 Accept, Lord, the willing praise of my mouth,
    and teach me your laws.

109 Though I constantly take my life in my hands,
    I will not forget your law.

110 The wicked have set a snare for me,
    but I have not strayed from your precepts.

111 Your statutes are my heritage forever;
    they are the joy of my heart.

112 My heart is set on keeping your decrees
    to the very end.[d]

New International Version (NIV)(End of Scripture Passage)

.

"Nun" is the same as our letter "N". The Arabic Alphabet also has a "Nun" which has become the symbol for Persecuted Christians in our own era.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Not to me, Oh LORD, But to You be the Glory!
Nothing is Impossible with You!
Night Closes In, But Your Word is a Shining Light!
Never Shall I Be Afraid, For
Now I Drink Deeply of Your Life-Sustaining Spirit,
Now I Walk With You Daily In Your Word,
New Insights Come to Us Every Morning With Your Precious Word, like
Never Before! How Wonderful You Are! Behold, You Make All Things
New, and Fresh, and Alive. The Wicked rage, and lay their snares, But they have
No Power over me, Because I am in the Shelter of Your Wings.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

105. Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.

In Vocal Training, there are four consonants that resonate. They are L, M, N, and R. All the other consonants need to be attached to a vowel somehow in order to be "sung". The "N" sound is formed by curling the tongue up to the palate and allowing the sound to 'buzz' against the roof of the mouth. This can actually produce a tone, and so it is called a "Resonating Consonant". OK...you didn't sign up for Voice Lessons, so, let's get to the Bible!

Today's Section, "Nun' (Rhymes With "Noon", sort of, but with a shorter vowel sound), has Every Verse in the Eight Line Stanza Beginning With the Letter Equivalent to our English "N".

The Original Pictograph of Nun was a Tadpole-like mark, and Represents a Seed, an Heir, or a Son, and has the meaning of Spreading, Fertility, Sprouting, Activity, and Action. The Little Tadpole became a fish in Ancient Lore, because Fish breed and Spread profusely, and the Modern "Nun" Represents a Fish.

Here is a Great Story I Found over at the Chabad Site about "Nun":

"Joshua is called the "Son of Nun" because he is the Spiritual Heir of Moses.
Moses is Indeed, like a Fish, because he was taken up out of the waters of the Nile."

Both Joshua and Moses were Meek and Humble Men.

Here are some Words That Begin With "Nun":

Neshemal=Soul
Ner=Candle
Ne'eman=Faithful One
Nes=Miracle
Navi=Prophet
Navoah=Prophecy

The Numerical Value of Nun is Fifty. Here are some Wonderful Examples of 50 in the Scripture:

50 Days From The First Day of Passover to The First Day of Shavuot (Pentecost)
50 Days From Passover to The Counting of the Omer (Manna in the Desert)

The Nun Stanza Opens with Psalm 119's Most beloved Verse of All:

105. Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

The Arabic letter for the "N" sound is also called "nun". It appears at the closing of every one of my posts on this thread. In this case, "nun" stands for "Nazarene", which is the Arabic word for "Christian", of any denomination. The Arabic "nun" is often scrawled (by fanatical Muslims) on the property of Christian people during times of persecution. This identifies the house and "invites" the mobs to descend upon the house to kill or take captive its occupants. This is why a number of Western Christians are now wearing the symbol, in solidarity with their oppressed brothers and sisters in Africa and the Middle East.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

God Bless America!

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

This Symbol Represents Christians in The Middle East, who desperately need our Prayers.

As a real saxophonist, you KNOW exactly what I am talking about when I speak of resonance from a buzzing reed (or palate). :-)

The members of the oldest of our Christian Communities, some of which date from the days of the Apostles, suffer under cruel, merciless and unrelenting persecution. They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors, we are all "Nazarenes."
