I finally punted. John Paul II and Benedict kept me with the program, even while I realized I was nothing but a number in the weekly mass attendance figure.

So, after much reflection, goodbye RC, hello LCMS. Along the way, I discovered that confessional Lutheran theology makes a lot more sense, at least to my mind.

You are always a Catholic since you are a baptized and confirmed Catholic. You’re just an inactive one. You will be back.

Good choice! As an ex-Catholic LCMS believer, I’m glad I made the switch - even more in recent years!

My family did the same 15 years ago, it was like going back to the Church of my childhood...
