Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

(Music in The Bible)
Psalm 115
Psalm 115
1 Not to us, Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness.
2 Why do the nations say,
Where is their God?
3 Our God is in heaven;
he does whatever pleases him.
4 But their idols are silver and gold,
made by human hands.
5 They have mouths, but cannot speak,
eyes, but cannot see.
6 They have ears, but cannot hear,
noses, but cannot smell.
7 They have hands, but cannot feel,
feet, but cannot walk,
nor can they utter a sound with their throats.
8 Those who make them will be like them,
and so will all who trust in them.
9 All you Israelites, trust in the Lord
he is their help and shield.
10 House of Aaron, trust in the Lord
he is their help and shield.
11 You who fear him, trust in the Lord
he is their help and shield.
12 The Lord remembers us and will bless us:
He will bless his people Israel,
he will bless the house of Aaron,
13 he will bless those who fear the Lord
small and great alike.
14 May the Lord cause you to flourish,
both you and your children.
15 May you be blessed by the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
16 The highest heavens belong to the Lord,
but the earth he has given to mankind.
17 It is not the dead who praise the Lord,
those who go down to the place of silence;
18 it is we who extol the Lord,
both now and forevermore.
Praise the Lord.[a]

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father,
Who Art in Heaven,
Holy and Sanctified is Your Glorious Name Forever!
Rock of Ages,
LORD of Hosts,
You Know the End from the Beginning,
And the Beginning from the End.
Because You ARE The Beginning and The End,
The Aleph~Tav
The Alpha and the Omega!
You Are The Author of Life,
Our Precious Creator,
You formed us in the secret places of our mother's womb,
You Designed Our DNA in All Its Beauty and Complexity and Uniqueness,
And have a perfect plan for each and every one of us.
Father, We pray For Your Will To Be Made Manifest,
Over All The Earth,
As The Waters Cover the Sea,
So Obvious and Apparent, That NOBODY DARE say,
"So, Where is their God?"
Who are We, mere humans,
to make gods in our own image?
And yet we bow down to gods of silver and gold,
And even idols of human flesh.
Electronic idols beckon to us,
to distract us from YOU, Abba, Father!
And False Idols of the Earth, Which You Formed,
Worshiping the creature rather than the Creator,
Making goddesses of the planets and stars,
Which are just bits of rock and ice,
And the Work of Your Fingers!
Forgive us our great sin, Dear LORD!
LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.
We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Dad was teaching me about the Ten Commandments. I was younger than seven, because I already had an understanding of The Big Ten before ever being enrolled in Sunday School (Thanks Dad!). Of course, Number 1 could be easily explained: Don't worship idols like the Natives in the Tarzan movies do. Well that's easy enough. But Dad didn't let it rest there. He said that ANYTHING could be an idol. A movie star, your house, your car, your job, money, the TV, whatever. If it took your eyes OFF the REAL God, it was an IDOL. Pretty heavy stuff for a six-year-old, but, of course, he was RIGHT.
Psalm 115 is a Liturgical Psalm, and may have been written to dedicate the Second Temple (Ezra 6:16) after the Exile.
It has Five Movements and is an exchange between the Levite Choir, the Priests, and the Congregation. I love the way this Psalm mocks the false idols of the world. Although the Psalm is speaking of actual idols, we can make an idol out of anything.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

Your father was a wise man! You and your siblings were blessed. My Mom took us to see the 10 Commandments when it first came out . . .at an outdoor movie theater. It was one of those movies that even if I didn’t know everything going on it made an impression. My brother, sister and I were blessed, too, with wonderful parents.

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM! And for the Preservation of the Valiant Israeli Nation!
|
They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.
They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.
O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.
O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.
Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.
The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.
He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.
The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children.
Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth.
The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.
But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the LORD.
