--The fact that Bryant took his faith so seriously seemed to take many, including those in the media, by surprise.
The day after his last NBA game, one in which he scored 60 points, he told an ESPN reporter that he celebrated by rising early, drinking a cup of coffee, and going to church.
It was me, alone, he said. After 20 years, I think its important to give thanks.
When, by his own admission, he had allowed his life to spin completely out of control, being accused of rape in a Colorado hotel room, one of the first people he turned to was a Catholic priest, telling GQ magazine, The one thing that really helped me during that process was talking to a priest.
Parishioner Dominic Picarelli said hed seen Bryant often over the past 16 years...He said he was perhaps most impressed at seeing Bryant consistently, session after session, as his daughter Natalia and Picarellis son, Ethan, went through the two-year process of first Holy Communion.
Those at the Pauline Center for Media Studies in Culver City had a special moment to reflect upon. Sister Rose Pacatte posted a short story on Pauline.org about the day in 2004 when Bryant visited:
"He was looking for a special rosary for his wife, Vanessa. As the sister who was there tells the story, the other shoppers stopped and looked in awe as he moved quietly around the shop.
As he turned to leave, a small grandmotherly-looking lady walked up to him and tilted her head up, way up.
Mr. Bryant?
Yes, maam? he replied as he looked down to meet her gaze.
I just want you to know, she said solemnly, I pray for you.
He paused a moment and said, Thank you, maam.

Why does ANYONE? For me, its to have a personal relationship with The Lord my savior. I dont care what anyone thinks.
Amazing and refreshing to hear his story. Unfortunately we’ve had to hear it this way.
More Kobe.
pretty sure he was a practicing catholic when he was out strangling women while he was married
but then again..can’t be any worse than Priests molesting children
Oh, so now it’s plural? Stop making sh!t up.
pretty sure he was a practicing catholic when he was out strangling women while he was married
Site your source shut up.
Why so angry?
Is there no such thing as redemption. Or have you never made a mistake?
Actually he wasnt. There are multiple sources on the web that describe him finding the church.
Its called forgiveness and redemption.
Its kind of a good thing. Except some folks cannot believe that a black man cannot possibly turn their lives around.
Shame on you.
“Oh, so now its plural? Stop making sh!t up.”
LOLO! It was from Kobe’s own words!
“Actually he wasnt. “

LOL! Raised a Catholic, married in a Catholic church ...
He grew up in Italy. He was a Catholic. Now SHUT YOUR MOUTH

What's your point? I think it's pretty clear that he realized he was on the wrong path and turned his life around with God's help. Don't you accept the idea that sinners can repent? How does that work in your own life?
He was raised a Catholic and was a Catholic when out strangling the women as an adulterer.
And please dont tell me he didnt strangle women. He admitted to it.
He admitted to liking to strangle women..just not his wife.
So as long as you repent it is okay to rape and strangle (but not kill) women??
I suspect he started in on the strangling..she freaked and said no..and he kept on perhaps not realizing she really meant no.
Some dude starts strangling me a YES WILL BECOME NO.
Btw, if a dude gets off on strangling womand and the woman is okay with it that is between them.
She was not okay with it.
Oh, and I am sure the diddling Priests did plenty of repenting..and kept on diddling. Do they get a pass because they repented?
Priests diddle kids and repent..how does that work in your life. Does that make it okay???
