Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

(Music in The Bible)

Psalm 111

Psalm 111[a]

1 Praise the Lord.[b]

I will extol the Lord with all my heart
    in the council of the upright and in the assembly.

2 Great are the works of the Lord;
    they are pondered by all who delight in them.
3 Glorious and majestic are his deeds,
    and his righteousness endures forever.
4 He has caused his wonders to be remembered;
    the Lord is gracious and compassionate.
5 He provides food for those who fear him;
    he remembers his covenant forever.

6 He has shown his people the power of his works,
    giving them the lands of other nations.
7 The works of his hands are faithful and just;
    all his precepts are trustworthy.
8 They are established for ever and ever,
    enacted in faithfulness and uprightness.
9 He provided redemption for his people;
    he ordained his covenant forever—
    holy and awesome is his name.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;

   all who follow his precepts have good understanding.

   To him belongs eternal praise.

Footnotes:

1. Psalm 111:1 This psalm is an acrostic poem, the lines of which begin with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
2. Psalm 111:1 Hebrew Hallelu Yah

New International Version (NIV)(End of Scripture Passage)

.

The next 7 Psalms are sometimes referred to as "The Hallel" which means "Praise". The Seven are symmetrically designed to compliment each other, with the fourth one in the group standing out in the center…much like the Seven-Branched Candelabra which is the Symbol of Israel.

And Of His Messiah!
And he Shall reign Forever and Ever.
King of Kings,
and Lord of Lords.
Hallelujah.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The idea that the next group of Psalms can be visualized as a Menorah is speculative and what many of us would call "poetic license", but it is a nice mnemonic for this particular group of Psalms. This little grouping is so perfectly structured and arranged that it is used as part of the Passover Service. Since all the Psalms relate to one another with the word "HALLELUJAH", the name of the group is "THE HALLEL" which means "PRAISE".

Psalm 111 and 112 are so similar that they can be combined. Both have a Intro and a Coda, Both start with HALLELUJAH!", Both have two stanzas in between the frame of Intro and Coda, and both are Acrostics. But, they are not ordinary acrostics. These two Psalms are unique in that each HALF-Line advances the acrostic to the next letter in the Hebrew Alphabet. They are not attributed, but are most probably by the same composer. The Psalm focuses upon what God has done for His People.

We all have been praying for our president during these trying weeks. This week has been one of vindication and incredible affirmation from God. And, once again, the Thread lines up with Current Events, almost as if it were planned that way.

And to that I say:

HALLELUJAH!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

God Bless America!

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR
THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM!
And for the Preservation of the Valiant
Israeli Nation!

RAISE ye the LORD. I will praise
the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

2 The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have plea-
sure therein.
3 His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.

5 He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.

6 He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.

7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his command-
ments are sure.

8 They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and upright-
ness.

9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.

10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good under-
standing have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

We pray in particular on behalf of our brothers and sisters in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Libya and throughout the Mideast. The members of the oldest of our Christian Communities, some of which date from the days of the Apostles, suffer under cruel, merciless and unrelenting persecution. They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors, we are all "Nazarenes."
