:: The church was designed to complement Christ. ::
Ahhhhh, good old-fashioned Gospel reductionism.
The church is the BRIDE of Christ, into which he “entered”.
The church is my MOTHER who birthed me, washed me and fed me milk from her breasts and later meat from her table.
She has nurtured me, fed me and taught me under the direction of my Father who now leads me into the world as an heir to his legacy.
Much more than a plain complement.
The *church* is nobody’s *mother*.
The concept is not found in Scripture at all.
The Spirit of God is the One who gives us life and births us, the blood of Jesus is what washes us, and Scripture feeds us.
All that you are attributing to the church is actually the work of God, done by God, in our lives.
