The semi-official IlSismografo.blogspot.com (January 16) announces that it is certain that Francis will abolish celibacy in early February via his Amazon Exhortation.
The measure will first regard the nine countries which have a part of the Amazon basin, IlSismografo writes.
They are: Peru, Brazil, Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia, Guyana, Bolivia, Suriname and French Guiana.
IlSismografo pretends that Francis impending decision was authorized by the Amazon Synod.
Nothing could be farther from the truth. The Amazon Synod was an authentic Robber Synod to which Francis invited a selected group of ignorant Pachamama bishops with the only task to rubberstamp decisions that were made beforehand.
The present problem of the Church is not a lack of priests but the theological, spiritual and moral decadence of the papacy and the bishops. The lack of priests is a consequence of this.
The problem will not be removed by ordaining second-class priests.

But seriously, if the author means that Francis will abolish the requirement for priests to remain celibate, I'll believe it when I see it.
I’m not catholic but in today’s world that may be a good thing. Sex and procreation are as natural as breathing if you ask me.
In response to this and other questions I have posed regarding catholic doctrine that is unsupported by the Bible, my catholic friends and family have assured me that their church has in place a magisterium that protects the faithful from error. This is of course in opposition to the evangelicals that argue that the Bible is silent on this magisterium but does mention that the believer can access the Holy Spirit for guidance.
As an evangelical I have been saying that in my view the Bible doesn’t support the catholic doctrine of celibacy of priests. For that matter, I have been saying that the Bible doesnt support the office of priest in the New Testament church.
So my question is, if the magisterium has been correct regarding priestly celibacy for 1500-2000 years and all of a sudden the church reverses course and abolishes the celibacy rule, what would such a speculated change in doctrine say about the reliability of the magisterium?
That's one of the main reasons I think this article is more alarmist than factual. Francis knows he cannot successfully change Church doctrine in such a radical sense. To do so would undermine the teaching authority of the Church, just as you say.
I think the answer is that the Pope, speaking as an individual, is not speaking for the Magisterium.
And, certain things the Church does, are traditional, and not necessarily “De Fide”, of the faith.
But which is which, in this instance, I will leave to the more knowledgeable Catholics here.
Pope Socialista doing all he can to queerify and paganize the church as he destroys it
Celibacy is discipline, not doctrine. There are married priests already, which there couldn’t be if it were doctrine.
Only within a loving relationship Between married man and woman
That is sacred
This would be just another.
All the gay sex you could want!

I agree with you obviously. Notice comments from moonhawk and Campion. It has been allowed for some time that ordained and married priests that come into the catholic fold from say COE can do so. And I believe a catholic that is married but then enters seminary can also do so but the official position of the church for eons has been celibacy. If it were not so then why would there be any discussion of this matter? Of course the answer is the bishops are trying to gauge public opinion on this matter. It is amazing that some will swallow the carp whole, raw and even alive without thinking through the implications.
Then what's the big deal??
Francis Will Abolish Celibacy in South America
Francis Will Abolish Catholicism in South America .more truthful
Not sure of the correct terms here but a celibate priesthood was a “prudential” requirement, to free priests from the cares of supporting a family and to avoid the possibilities of corruption in passing down church property and position to heirs. Not a necessary or inherent requirement of the priesthood, Eastern rite Catholics have married priests.
Maybe prudential these days would be ordaining deacons after they and their wives had reached a mature age, say 45 or 50.
But they maintain that tradition has equal authority to scripture. Wikipedia: Sacred Tradition
Really? Which de fide doctrine or dogma has been changed?
Vatican 1 or Vatican 2
LOL. That's evasively broad. What specifically?
