The semi-official IlSismografo.blogspot.com (January 16) announces that it is certain that Francis will abolish celibacy in early February via his Amazon Exhortation.
The measure will first regard the nine countries which have a part of the Amazon basin, IlSismografo writes.
They are: Peru, Brazil, Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia, Guyana, Bolivia, Suriname and French Guiana.
IlSismografo pretends that Francis impending decision was authorized by the Amazon Synod.
Nothing could be farther from the truth. The Amazon Synod was an authentic Robber Synod to which Francis invited a selected group of ignorant Pachamama bishops with the only task to rubberstamp decisions that were made beforehand.
The present problem of the Church is not a lack of priests but the theological, spiritual and moral decadence of the papacy and the bishops. The lack of priests is a consequence of this.
The problem will not be removed by ordaining second-class priests.
Non-Roman Catholics prior to V2 were not considered “saved”....post V2....we’re now “saved....at least in Rome’s eyes.
Roman catholic priests were allowed to be married for the first several centuries. In the middle ages it was changed, as a discipline, and to free the priests from the burden of caring for their families.
The practice could be changed again, in whole or in part, without affecting any belief or faith.
Our RC friends tell us the opposite.
Frankly everything else he wants to do concerns me more than this.
Celibacy has only been Church doctrine for the past 1000 years. It was imposed largely for reasons of protecting Church property from claims from offspring than for any Biblical reason.
Right now we’re taking clergy from other churches who wish to convert, and telling them to bring the wife and kids. In this area a married Pentecostal minister was recently ordained, which received widespread media coverage. So married Priests are already out there.
Frankly the Church has no other choice, as it simply cannot continue to operate with the number of Priests plummeting as quickly as it has. And apparently very few young men are looking to sign-up for the celibacy thing.
Personally I think that celibacy provided a convenient cover for gays and pedophiles, one which they actually found attractive. Opening the Priesthood to more sexually well-adjusted people can only be a good thing IMHO.
A lot of opposition is coming from traditionalists, which I understand. Scratch the surface and I suspect you’ll find more coming from the gay cabal that does not want their little party being crashed.
One of the charges against Martin Luther, who the catholics would have burned at the stake if they could have, for simply arguing for the clear teachings of the Bible, was that he argued against celibacy and later married.
Why why why all of the fuss now if celibacy were not an issue with the church?
I ask this as a rhetorical question.
I believe this is the first step leading to ordaining homos, trannies, etc. as priests.
Do not be fooled. This is just step one to permitting gays and gay sex in the church.
Catholics: Leave now before this False Prophet leads you stray. You cannot honor God in a house of sin. You will need to split into your own church.
Not all tradition.
Would you please cite the text and source of this teaching before and after the Second Vatican Counsel explicitly saying what you are asserting so that I can read them for myself and compare them in context? Thanks.
I know it's a wiki article but it has some very good links.
What I asked for isn't provided in that sprawling wiki article. I asked for specific examples of the teachings by the Catholic Church that back up what you are asserting. If you are confident that the Church taught and teaches what you assert it does, it should be easy for you to back up your assertion with at least one clear example of pre and post-concilar teachings. Beyond that, it is merely an unsubstantiated claim.
The Maronites have had it for years. Married priests are normal in the Orthodox faiths which incidentally have been having a large vocation problem.
LOL don’t they already have that?
catholic priests with children might serve as role model for the faithful.
We have married priests now.
It may enhance the priests ministerial skills to have the experience epos marriage and a family.
I can’t think of a good reason priests cannot be married. We have problems with celibacy now and we will have some problems with marriage. No policy is problem free.
Some here will see their heads explode when women are ordained in this century.

God thinks it’s WRONG TO FORBID to marry, eat meat, etc. Let the clergy marry, for Pete’s sake.
4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1 Timothy 4:1-3 King James Version (KJV)
The married priests were “grandfathered in” when they converted to Catholicism from their protestant pastorships.
Celibacy is not what is defined as an “Article of Faith.”
