Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 87

Psalm 87

Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm. A song.

1 He has founded his city on the holy mountain.
2 The Lord loves the gates of Zion
    more than all the other dwellings of Jacob.

3 Glorious things are said of you,
    city of God:[a]
4 “I will record Rahab[b] and Babylon
    among those who acknowledge me—
Philistia too, and Tyre, along with Cush[c]—
    and will say, ‘This one was born in Zion.’”[d]
5 Indeed, of Zion it will be said,
    “This one and that one were born in her,
    and the Most High himself will establish her.”
6 The Lord will write in the register of the peoples:
    “This one was born in Zion.”

7 As they make music they will sing,
    “All my fountains are in you.”

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent is Your Name over All The Earth!
For You Alone Are Worthy;
You Alone Are LORD;
You Alone Are The King of the Universe!
Ancient of Days;
You Are The One True God of Abraham,
and We Praise and Worship You with Our Whole Heart,
Soul, Mind, and Spirit!

Abba, Father!
How You Love Your Holy City!
Your Precious, Infallible WORD Sings of Her,
Extols Her,
Weeps Over Her,
Builds Her Up,
Mourns Her,
Remembers Her,
Warns Her,
Admonishes and Chastises Her,
Watches Over Her,
And Loves Her.

And yet the enemy, who never mentioned or remembered her,
now wants her and claims her.


Dear Abba Father,
We Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem,
According to The Your Promise.


We Pray for and END to Lies and Slander
Against Your People.


We Pray for an End to Slavery,
Hostage-taking,
And Piracy Worldwide.


We Pray for the People of Israel,
That they may have Access and Control of Their Holy Places,
That they may Worship in Peace.
Remove ANYTHING that does not Glorify You, Oh LORD!
We Pray for our own leaders,
May they be Enlightened
And Speak Comfort To Your people!

We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

While most of the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) pertain to Israel and the Jewish People, there are some Passages that clearly foresee the "Ingathering of the Nations" (Gentile People). Isaiah has a lot of these Passages. The Psalms, which are Liturgical in nature, have very few. Psalm 87 is one of those. It sings of the Glory of Zion, the beauty of God's Holy City, and the eventual bringing together of all People into God's Family of Peace. The "Fountains" described here harmonize with Zechariah, Ezekiel, and the Book of Revelation. It is an Awesome Psalm, short and to the point. It is one of the inspirations for this Thread, now in its tenth year.

Father, we pray for Your laborers assigned to Israel. Open doors of utterance for them and give them boldness to speak Your Word in the power of the Holy Spirit. As they open their mouths, fill them with those words which will bear fruit. As You go with them, confirm your Word with signs following.
