Thus, we must personally and individually accept the Lords invitation to enter our lives and transform our hearts. We cannot simply say, My family built the Church, or I went to Catholic School, or My mother goes there. Sadly, on these forums we see a lot of people claim, "I'm a Catholic."
Rarely do we see Roman Catholics claim to know Jesus as their personal Savior.
In fact, we often have seen people decry the Christian's personal relationship with Christ.

Yeah, I find that position incongruent with claiming Catholicism is any representation of Christs church.

Thank you - I needed that today.

Hence the Lord, who does not force us to be in an intimate relationship with Him,
Did God not do that very thing with Isreal? There are many examples of God choosing and “forcing” a relationship.
How many prophets wanted to and did run away from God?

The difficulty I have is that the churches Ive been to have not followed the Word.
I understand your point. but maybe the these churches are mission fields and we need to be missionaries?
Not that I like the idea but it has been haunting me........

Reed13k, there are those here that would send you right into the abyss of apostacy if you follow them. Whether you know it or not. Reed: Study the word, rightly divided. God PROMISES you that you will NOT be ASHAMED if you do. 2Tim.2:15

There is an Old Gospel hymn that says, Yes I know Jesus for myself. Its not enough to quote the pastor; its not enough to say what your mother said. You have to know Him yourself. Do you know Him? I didnt say, Do you know about Him. This is more than intellectual knowing; this is the deep, biblical, experiential knowing. Do you know the Lord Jesus? Well for a second he sounds like an evangelical preaching to a Catholic. How dare he borrow such exhortation and address it to Catholics! Go ahead, tell me he is not.

I like the Inspired Version of the Bible Matthew 25:11 But he answered and said, Verily, I say unto you, You know me not. The Inspired Version never says that God or Jesus didnt know us. Of course, He does. Its about whether we know Him as Savior and Lord. No, that is not a good translation, and reverses the word order, and the knowing (as in having entered into relationship) is on the Lord;'s part to those who know Him:
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. (2 Timothy 2:19)
Thus to those who do not,
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:23)

My. 25:11
Literally, Matthew 25:12 (YLT): Verily I say to you, I have not known you.
Dont miss that this is about Jews who reject Him.

It wasn’t a statement.
It was a question.
