When It Comes to Voting In the Presidential Elections, There is no middle ground for Christians today
Christian Post ^ | 12/26/2019 | Shane Idleman

Posted on 12/26/2019 6:26:49 AM PST by SeekAndFind

Timothy Dalrymple, CEO of Christianity Today, recently defended Mark Galli’s op-ed supporting the impeachment of President Trump. He stated, “We have received countless notes of encouragement from readers who were profoundly moved. They no longer feel alone. They have hope again.”

Dalrymple goes on to say, “We feel compelled to say that the alliance of American evangelicalism with this presidency has wrought enormous damage to Christian witness.” He adds, “The problem is that we as evangelicals are also associated with President Trump’s rampant immorality, greed, and corruption; his divisiveness and race-baiting; his cruelty and hostility to immigrants and refugees; and more.” Much of that is untrue, but I digress.

What Timothy and many others fail to realize is that we can’t have it both ways. We can’t have our cake and eat it too. There is not a middle ground for Christians today. You can either choose a president who will wear a Planned Parenthood scarf at her inauguration (or one of countless others who would seek to destroy the America we know, and lead us down the primrose path of socialism — or worse), or you can back President Trump. As the saying goes: “You can vote your way into socialism and communism, but you’ll have to shoot your way out.” No, I’m not advocating violence for all those hell-bent on twisting everything I say; I’m advocating calling a spade a spade.

CT, where was your voice when a newly elected congresswoman tweeted “Impeach the (expletive)!” about our president? Where is your voice when the national media lies and deceives the American public every day? To many, your op-ed seemed like a targeted hit piece. The Drudge Report even reported that evangelicals are in a battle because of your article. Talk about damaging our witness. Actually, Bible-believing, God-fearing Christians are united, not divided.

Christians only seem to be divided because many claiming to be “Christians” are not genuinely saved, or they have a wrong view of government. As a result, their perception of truth is skewed, hence the divide. They are led by Hollywood, not the Holy Spirit. Ironically, Hollywood, liberals, and progressives also liked Mark Galli’s op-ed. If Hollywood and the national media are on your side, there’s a problem.

Secondly, many are divided on the “role” of government. The institution of government was created by God to govern man — to protect and defend and to administer justice. Our president is not a pastor who must exhibit godly character traits to stay in office; he is to be a terror to those who do evil (cf. Romans 13).

I like Eric Metaxas’ analogy of an airline pilot. When I get on a plane, I’m not too concerned about the pilot’s past morality or tweeting history. I want to know if he can fly the plane and get my family home safely. The alliance of American evangelicalism with this presidency is no different than my alliance with the pilot to do his job. We both must succeed, or we both fail.

In regard to Dalrymple’s response that our allegiance with Trump has “wrought enormous damage to that Christian witness,” this may be a good time to remind the reader that the world will hate those who hold to absolute truth. No matter what we do, the world will hate us unless we compromise the truth. We are not voting for people based on their character (although that would be a huge plus), we are voting for the future direction of America. What direction will those running for office take us? is the question we all should be asking.

Many evangelicals have spoken out against the abrasive comments and cynical tweets of our president, but when we weigh those on the scale with candidates who vote to murder babies by removing them from the womb limb by limb, there is no comparison … no compromise … no negotiation. You may want to commit this paragraph to memory before 2020.

CT is so concerned about offending readers, but I wonder if they have stopped to consider that they may have offended God?

Don’t you just hate it when non-Christians tell Christians lies about Christianity? It is as if these poor souls who do not believe in Heaven and Hell and are on a path to the latter place have stricken all he “Not”s out of the Ten Commandments.

Bill Clinton was the pilot not paying attention because he was banging the newest flight attendant in the cockpit instead of flying....something Trump has not done.

It’s hard to imagine folks who consider themselves “people of faith” being shaken from their faith WHATEVER their faith by the dirtbag squirming lies of the mainstream media. If that’s what shakes them, their faith isn’t very strong at all. The media is designed to hook into people of NO faith, of NO values, of NO strongly held beliefs.

"By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?"

It's the Democrat party that is always trying to drive Christianity out of the public square. They drove God out of the schools, claiming it offends everyone. They support abortion. And to still remain the "good guys", they point fingers at everyone else calling them racists and homophobes. Where is the sin of homophobia mentioned in the Bible? Do they ever back up their charges of racism with actual evidence? They're also liars.

Yep. So when they ask me "how as a Christian could you vote for Donald Trump?" I reply quite simply: I voted for a President, not a Pastor.

That shuts them up every time.

So this boob, tool of and advocate for the left, would support someone like Hillary Clinton, escapee from prosecution for numerous crimes, appointer of federal judges who would allow abortion until the date of birth, strike down any allowance of Christian observance in public, and do their best to eliminate it from the public domain. This jerk, and his fellows at so-called “Christianity Today” are CINOs, politics-driven phonies who will be glad for a seat at the liberals’ table whom they first serve and then are allowed to eat some of their table scraps.

What I find interesting in all of this is that this anti-right publication appeared to be flying below the radar until this particular editorial. I’ve never read it so I don’t know what else they’ve written but a leopard doesn’t change its spots - if they held these leftist views on one occasion they held them on others.

This reminds me of the gun owners who are fine with banning semi-automatics because those people are rednecks, lowlifes, etc.

There is an elite sector among any large group who looks down on some of their fellow members.

The truth is that when you believe yourself to be superior to others, you make yourself unworthy of any respect.

Sure he was paying attention. You’ve got to be paying attention to sell out the country.

The Lord works in mysterious ways. Trump has his faults but he is not an evil man. Quite the opposite, he is in fact a good man doing the Lords work.

There has never been any middle ground for Christians when it comes to voting.

One party hates Christianity, one party doesn't.

It is as if these poor souls who do not believe in Heaven and Hell and are on a path to the latter place have stricken all he “Not”s out of the Ten Commandments.

Democrats talking about Christianity and who is/isn't a "good Christian" always makes me laugh.

Democrats, the party of:

1. Unrestricted abortion at any time for any reason - including post birth;

2. The party of 57 different "genders";

3. The party of the real "war on women" by allowing "transgenders" to compete in Womens sports;

4. The party of homosexual marriages being biblically based;

5. The party that kicked Christ out of schools;

6. The party that worships communists and not almighty God;;

7. The party that thinks being a Christian is a mental illness;

8. The party that voted God out of the Democrat party platform then CHEERED during their Presidential convention afterwards;

9. The party that is openly seeking to normalize pedophilia;

10. The party that openly hates God, America, white people, successful people, rich people and anyone who doesn't tow the line of their warped political party.

11. The party that wants to abolish the Second Amendment, stripping us all of our God given right to self defense.; 12. The party that is openly seeking to eliminate the First Amendment through "political correctness" and "hate speech."; 13. The party that coddles these stupid snowflakes;

14. The party that gave us ANTIFA (the most fascist movement I've ever seen in my lifetime); 15. The party that openly advocates for seizing wealth and nationalizing it for their own purposes;

16. The party that seeks to destroy anyone who doesn't bow down and worship at the altar of "global warming";

17. The party that seeks to destroy Electoral College, instituting a "popular vote" system that would disenfranchise 42 states in favor of 8 states determining all Presidential elections;

18. The party that wants us all freezing to death in winter, eliminating all fossil based fuels;

19. The party that refuses all attempts to manage our national forests and resources wisely, creating power blackouts and unnecessary fires for the people of California, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and other states;

20. And finally, the party that impeaches our President for protecting the American people.

When did I ever think I'd see an American President get impeached FOR DOING HIS JOB and protecting us against the fascist Democrat Party???? I could go on for days about how bad the Democrat party is. Not that the Republican party is perfect mind you, at least they don't openly advocate for abortion at any time for any reason, still worship God and respect our Constitutionally guaranteed rights..

If much of what Dalrymple says is untrue, why should we listen to any of it?

Let me get this right:

Christians have this publication with HUGE circulation and they turn it over to the Left to operate.

What could go wrong?

Get woke, go broke!! When almost half of Christianity Today's subscribers cancel, they can kiss their ass goodbye.

Just about everything Jesus said to the Pharisees when he was telling them off can be applied to the democRat counterfeit version(s) of Christianity.
