Deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest, a community of Druids is reviving Celtic rites. They might seem hokey or outlandish, but maybe, just maybe, theyre the ones who have it all figured out.

Worshiping false idols vs the True God. Reminds me of the Book of Jeremiah where God is furious that ALL He provides for His people but the whore after other gods.

When I heard Pacific Northwest I thought they were talking about Bohemian Grove. The place where RINOs get together and dance naked in front of a Moloch statue and give him a burnt offering.

They are reviving nothing. Ancient Druidic rites have been lost to time. What ever passes for them today have been made up.

Making up a religion as they go along. The Original druids (so I have read) were wiped out 2000 years ago by the Roman armies.

Yes agree! Religion by comic book!

So are these new Druids reviving burning people in wicker baskets for human sacrifice too?

At one time in Victorian UK it was a sort of popular thing to do if you wanted to run with the “Avant Garde Movers & Shakers” and still express UK Imperial patriotism. I read that a young Churchill participated in their “rites” at Stonehenge once. (Then his mother probably boxed his ears and told him to grow up!)

Whether they have revived ancient rites is largely irrelevant the question is whether they are effectively reaching any ancient powers associated with that religion.

Pacific Northwest? Single men, don’t let that attractive but strange hippy woman invite you to her commune. It could turn out badly.
To: amnestynone
I believe that all of the cults ARE reaching one entity, much to his delight.

"They are reviving nothing. Ancient Druidic rites have been lost to time. What ever passes for them today have been made up."
Excellent point. So much of this New Age paganism is just contemporary fantasies projected into the past. Unlike early Christian documents - which are very well attested - very little actual documentation from pre-Christian pagan groups has survived, certainly nothing along the lines of complete rituals.

If you have to live deep in the woods in a tiny cult “to have it all figured out,” what hope does that give for the hundreds of millions for whom life in the cities is all they will ever know?
To: agatheringstorm
Wow.
Ya know, I do love trees.
When they cut down one of my black walnut trees to make room for an add on garage, I did cry.
Quietly.
And then I got TF over it.
