I agree. It’s actually a beautiful song with some luscious harmonies. It’s too bad the author of the article couldn’t acknowledge that and present the lyrics as a possible teachable moment. WWJD?

Moronic and wrong.

Mary was told she was going to have a baby and...

“He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David. And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.”

It would not be immediately clear to Mary that she was having THE Messiah that had been foretold.

The song basically asks if she knew her child was Divine and would perform miracles.

A reasonable question at the moment of His birth.
