Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Oh God, Father Almighty,
Holy and Sanctified is Your Most Wonderful Name!
We come before You on this Beautiful Morning to sing
Psalms of Praise and Thanksgiving!
We Thank You Profoundly that You,
in You Mighty Wisdom and Provision,
have Chosen To Preserve Your Holy Word to This Day.
We Thank You that You have Allowed Us To Once Again
Sing The Sweet Songs Of King David,
a Man After Your Own Heart.
LORD, We Pray that the Schemes and Plots of the wicked
will be thwarted and dashed asunder.
We Pray an End to the LIES
and the Propaganda
and the Slander against Your People.
We Pray Destruction
upon a vile and ruthless demonic cult that masquerades as a world religion,
and mocks both the Jewish and Christian Faiths.
We Pray FREEDOM for those individuals
who are right now in chains to that cult.
We stand together
as True Sons and Daughters of Abraham and Sarah,
some from the Original Olive Tree of Israel,
and Some Grafted in by the Grace of God,
to declare that we Stand with The ONE TRUE GOD.

For the Sake of Your Anointed,
and For The Sake of Your Name,
We pray for the Peace of Jerusalem,
For Israel,
According to Your Word,
and Your Promise.

We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Just two months shy of this Thread's tenth birthday, which we will observe on February 6th, 2020, I am amazed that we haven't done this Topical Study of Music in The Bible till now. Oh yes, we have done Psalms before, and have touched on musical anecdotes and parables from my own experience as a musician, but I think this is the first time we have ever studied the Bible quite this way.

I am astounded at the amount of music that we are encountering!

Those who have been with me on this Thread for the duration also know that I have a passion for Archaeology. Why else would I spend my precious vacation time digging in a ditch in the hot sun, or scrambling through a 2500-year-old water pipe? Now, of course, I can enjoy these activities vicariously by watching the many archaeology programs on cable.

Nearly all of the Capital Cities of great ancient empires were either on the Seacoast or by a mighty river. Egypt had the Nile, Rome had the Tiber, and the very word "Mesopotamia" means the "Land Between the Rivers". The Tigris and Euphrates are even mentioned in Genesis 2 as two of the four rivers in the Garden of Eden. But, the City that is thought of by millions as being the holiest place on the planet does NOT have a river. That's why the Kings of Judah had to install aqueducts and plumbing, some of which is still visible today, and accessible to wannabee archaeologists like myself.

So what is this river that is in this Psalm? Well, it is a River that these other Great Ancient Cities do NOT have. It is a River of Blessing from The One True God. This River is described in the ending Chapters of Ezekiel when he describes the New Temple, and matches the description of The New Jerusalem in Revelation. Isaiah also sings of this River of Blessing in Chapter 33:21. This is Jerusalem's River, and it is better than the Nile, The Tigris, The Euphrates, The Chebar, The Abana, The Pharpar, the Tiber, The Amazon, and The Mississippi all together.

The Psalm is a confident and glorious expression of praise and trust in the One True God.

Now let's look at the question I raised in the original post. The Title includes the "Sons of Korah Choir" just like the others in this series within the Book of Psalms. But who or what are the "alamoth"? The closest Hebrew word to this one means "Maidens", and it is theorized that this could have been a "ladies choir" or young women who led the liturgical procession with tambourines, keeping the beat for the men's choir. Either way, it hearkens back to Exodus 15, when Miriam led the Israelite maidens in a song and dance, accompanied by their tambourines and timbrels. And so, God did not exclude half of His human creation from worshiping Him. Everybody had their roles to play and sing and Praise the God of the Universe.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

God Bless America!

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
