Thanks, not very often people read those let alone post.

Read and enjoyed some of your page entries too.

Did you check out the links - my favorite found out about here on FR

- creationscience.com -

for those who don’t have time to read 450+ pages check out the videos. 10 min intro by Dr. Walt Brown on the hydroplate theory and 7 parts in-depth explanations by Brian Nickels each about 50 min. and well worth the time.

Thanks Elsie - one of my favorite quotes too!

Recently I’ve found the healing powers of honey and bee pollen to achieve optimum health and was inspired to write this, my 1st attempt t poetry:

Honey makes the bitter sweet,
never degrades in cold nor heat.

Builds immunity to cold, sinus and flu,
yet truly only a little drop will do.

Manuka is the best because of tea trees,
Yet healing abounds from things made by bees.

Try some bee pollen sometime too,
it may make a better stronger you.

-Inspired by Dr. Seuss & Proverbs 25:16.

Only a Catholic could portray the freedom we have in Christ as bondage, and bondage to rules and regulations.

Pick up a bible and LEARN OF JESUS

A small note here, my FRiend and brother:

Is your phrase "LEARN OF JESUS" based on article author paladinkc's verse Matthew 11:29? If so, then yes, my KJV translation is this:

"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."

There the word "of" in the modern use is taken to mean "about"; that is, an invitation to "learn about Me." That idea is voiced in the hymn "More about Jesus would I know" in which verse 2 starts with "More about Jesus let me learn". Now, that is a wonderful idea, and I'm all for it. But regarding the grammar and sense of the passage, that isn't quite what Jesus is inviting the seeker to engage in. It is broader. It is the phrase he is using to recruit disciples.

The Greek word "apo" translated "of" in the KJV does not mean "about." It means means "from" in today's English.

So what He was offering was a chance to "Come learn from me" as the Teacher, to become His disciple, with the objective of having Him (or now, His Spirit) personally teaching the student lots of things that He wants us to know, not just about Him, but about everything that is making one sad and depressed, and loaded down, and ready to give up. And furthermore, to go on and gain all the facets of a victorious life with Him.

The easy yoke is the occupation of learning, and the light burden is the chore of putting that new knowledge into practice, with the power of His Spirit making one an overcomer.

When this happens, the regenerated Spirit-filled disciple obtains a new perspective, one of assurance of God's favor now and forever, no longer under condemnation, and having the power to permanently conquer sinful habits that bring saddening consequences.

Come and learn from Him, from His Spirit, Who speaks through His Word the Bible, with an experienced mentor helping you to find the plan for your education in the things of God and guidance in applying it.

That's what one should gather from this passage. Get into God's boot camp, on the path already trod by a spiritual DI!

The last couple of spoonfuls in my upside-down honey bottle were so supersaturated that the contents started crystallizing, making it impossible to squeeze any more of the granulated remainder out. So I had to scoop out the last bit and put it in my cooking breakfast oatmeal.

Yum!

Thanks for this post, even wrestled with it a bit, mostly agree with your assessment. Reminded of “Ideals are like Stars” - full quote on my home page.

I’d like your take on the parable on the 4 seeds & another haunts me for my many sins & loved ones - Matt 23:15

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are.”

Recently watched Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan - on Amazon for just under ‘2 dollars!’ - made me realize I need to read it too. Although a deep read, avg under 400 pages.

Matt 23:15 always bothered me, too legalistic & slow to come to a full repentance, to witness well for Christ.
Worse been praying for a lot of loved ones who appear lost or confused swayed by left & right extremists.

More background, my parents raised a large Catholic family of 7, but they also accepted Jesus when I was 13. After their true conversion they began witnessing and requiring us to read the Bible out loud together for 1 hr Sundays after church. A cousin, raised strict Lutheran like my Mom, also witnessed to me in my teens & later became a pastor and moved to MN. I accepted Jesus at 18 but fully admitted God’s ways are best at 58.

All that too say, never had a mentor other than Christ, fell away from church for 2 decades, kept reading Bible and growing in my faith but loads of regrets too. Divorced, 1 bio daughter estranged from me and her faith. 3 other boys all accepted Christ, oldest lost temporarily to suicide, other 2 struggling mightily. Parents got involved in PTL club then ‘fell away’, returned to strict Catholic. Fell deeply in love in college with a girl I never even kissed and now even an estranged friendship.

Last 2 decades reading FR, listening to John MacArthur and others on OnePlace.com have led me to full repentance and much better understanding of both politics & religion, but a huge burden of 40 years of regrets of trying to get it right. Seeing too many friends and family with fractured faith and beliefs. I think it could easily take another 4 decades or more to mend these many fences - advice and prayers welcomed.

Sorry so long - “experience is the best teacher but tuition is hell to pay”

Crystalized honey still good! Soak bottle in hot water or if not too squeamish microwave. Did you know they found some 2,000 year old honey that was found to have lost no nutritional value - if the story was truthful anyway?

Recently I drank some tainted well water [not to be confused with artesian water - much deeper under ground]. Basically I think a case of diverticulitis - most common reason for long hospital stays - my sister once spent 2 weeks there and no way I could have afforded that!

I was googling through a painful sleepless night - thought maybe appendicitis but pain on left side not right. Before giving up or worse going to ER I checked everything I had in the kitchen, had bought some bee pollen years ago which I rarely used and wondered why I bought it. Googled it’s benefits, took some, pain began subsiding and made a rather quick recovery.

If you know anyone struggling with health issues esp. allergies try this before you waste any money on the ‘experts’ in medicine.

Honey makes the bitter sweet,
never degrades in cold nor heat.
So cough up some money,
and buy ya some honey!
The flavor just cannot be(e) beat!

I find the ‘yoke’ as an implied promise of help in this world.

So many of us try to do it on our own strengths and abilities; thereby becoming tired, exhausted and finally plain worn out; ground down by the toils of this world.

“Take MY yoke upon you...”; not “Let me get in your yoke with you.”

Once one knows the Messiah, one is already a witness. Make a good confession of sins. Rise each day and go to sleep each night blessing the name of the LORD. Pray without ceasing.
