Victims wrote a letter to Pope Francis in 2014 and warned him of the dangers posed to children by Corradi in Argentina. This was seconded by a letter that a victim gave to the Pope personally in October 2015, which named Corradi and 13 other priests. But it was not the Church that shuttered the school: it was Argentine prosecutors who shut it down two years after Pope Francis was advised of the abuses.

Let’s see. Boy scouts? Not really. GAYS in the priesthood? Yes but it’s the priests not their proclivities. Joe Paterno? Unfortunately my hero went the way of Dan Rather, Bill Buckner, John Edwards, lol.

According to multiple witnesses, deaf children at Provolo Institute were not taught sign language but were instead taught to speak like the hearing. This meant that many were not able to communicate with their parents and the outside world.

I find this part confusing.

If they had been taught to speak then they should have been able to communicate much more effectively then if they had just learned sign language which is not really wide spread among the hearing community of Argentina.

It is dishonest to say that Pope Francis ignores these cases. Francis covers for and supports the perpetrators.

Confusing? The reality is truly sick and horrifying. Isn't it oblivious why? Unable to communicate means they were unable to tell anyone what was happening to them. Thank God someone put a stop to this. Pope Frankie needs to be weighed down with chains and cinderblocks and thrown in the Tiber. Seriously. The man is a sick bastard.

FTA:

Pope Francis and other Church authorities are being criticized for moving too slowly with regard to the accusations in the Provolo case and others. Corradi, for instance, was in contact with children for decades despite the serious allegations against him during the time that the Pope served as archbishop of Buenos Aires. The Pope’s judgement and involvement have also been questioned in the case of disgraced Bishop Gustavo Zanchetta, who stands accused of “aggravated continuous sexual abuse” of two former seminarians. He is also accused of defrauding the government of Argentina.

Will someone please explain to me why this wannabe Jeffrey Epstein, vile, loathsome, anti-American, anti-Catholic, Wesstern Civilization destroying subhumanoid thing that calls itself the "Pope" doesn't richly deserve to sharing a cell in Hell with Jeffery Epstein.

Hell, if truth be known, that humanoid probably had and still has a whole harem of choir boys.

Yes, but I can not understand WHY their being able to speak meant that they could not communicate.

If they were not teaching them to speak or sign that would indeed cut off all communication but they were being taught to speak.

This should have made the reporting easier not harder.

Yes, I found that confusing, too. Unless the writer means that their being taught to speak means that the deaf children can’t get very far in communicating. Don’t know anything about the subject, but I would assume that not being able to actually hear speech makes it nearly impossible to say words.

Helen Keller gave speeches. I know several deaf people who lip read and talk. Their accent is flat and sometimes they can be a bit loud but they certainly are understandable.

And signing is really rare in most of South America. They just do not think of it as necessary.

Okay, thanks for your insight.

Maybe the confusing part in the article is just a result of sloppy writing.

Now that is very possible.

I have often found that a word or two can get lost somewhere between when the story being written and when it is printed.

‘’that not being able to actually hear speech makes it nearly impossible to say words. Precisely. And these bastards knew that. Years ago I was an adult literacy tutor. When I would tell people who could read that I was a volunteer literacy tutor they’d ‘’Oh, that’s nice. You know I have a hard time spelling. And I’d say ‘’Well, if you can’t read spelling is irrelevant’’. You have to be able to do one or you can’t do the other. So it is with teaching the deaf. If they weren’t learning to sign, trying to speak words they couldn’t hear was beyond cruel. It was sadistic. These guys ought to be drawn and quartered for what they did.
