Granted. I worship Christ in my own way so I don’t have a lawyer.

I have a little saying, ‘it’s ok to possess things as long as things don’t possess us’.

Now I didn’t write this :

“Granted. I worship Christ in my own way so I don’t have a lawyer.”

I wrote

“Granted. I worship Christ in my own way so I don’t have a pastor to worry about”

How my iPhone came up with the his lawyer I have no idea.

And here I was, thinking that was a deep thought.

I have sat on “pay committees.”

I am of the opinion that, generally speaking, a pastor’s salary should align with the demographics of the church with the level of responsibility thrown in.

I think Army pay scales are useful. A pastor of a 3,000 member church with a staff of 5-10 people probably has 20 years in the pulpit. I think in a medium sized city $100,000 is reasonable. And that reflect about what a Lie tenant Colonel makes. A pastor in a small church in a smaller town should do well with about $40-50K. (First Lieutenant/Junior Captain) Mind you I retired 5 years ago so those numbers may be off.

The thing to remember is, especially in a smaller church, they are on 24/7.

Chris Rosebrough also has a video on tithing that is hands down the best explanation I’ve ever heard of how it no longer applies

Which video are you referring to? Can you provide a link? I went through his YouTube playlists, but I didn't see a topic specifically discussing tithing.

I’m traveling at the moment, but when I get a chance I’ll take a look and let you know. I thought it was a video specifically about tithing, but it may be that he was discussing it within a video with a different title.

I’d appreciate that. It’s an interesting topic, and I feel like I’ve been getting...biased information, shall we say, from some churches and pastors.
