Maybe the Millennial LDS women are wearing Holy Thongs instead of Holy Grandma Panties?

Ask a recent convert or 20-30 year-old mormon about Kolob, Joseph Smith, Brigham Young’s wives and you’ll get a blank stare. The church is running as fast as it can away from from the weird stuff. It ain’t part of the sales pitch.

Jana Riess, 49, is a popular LDS blogger

Ah, a Blogger.

You DO know that a Blogger is someone who identifies as a "writer" yet can't get hired?

There was a Facebook ad today offering a copy of the Book of Mormon in Spanish. Oh, they sent that to the wrong person because I posted a comment before stopping ads from them.

Mormon doctrine is malleable and fungible, changing as rapid as the menu at Taco Bell. This is especially true among the many separate off shoots.

Mormonism is a cult.

Unfortunately, made in America.

At one time in my life i used the information like this to prove The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was wrong.

They make a good case, and I think they really believe they teaching the truth.

I thought you might want to see some of the people praising the author’s new book

Notice who signed the second complement and decide if you trust the rest of her teachings.

The Twible adapts the Old Testament to the light-hearted quipping familiar in everyday Tweets.” —The Guardian, UK

“The Twible is the most entertaining version of my dad’s book I’ve read in the last two millennia!” —Jesus Christ†

“Twible is the best example I have ever seen of the reverence of irreverence. Only those who love deeply and securely can bring this kind of humor to the telling of the family’s stories. Don’t read it, unless you are prepared to fall in love with them again.” —Phyllis Tickle, author of The Divine Hours and The Great Emergence

Yet LDS scholars and apologists appear to disagree with Hale. For instance, former BYU professor Robert Millet stated,

The historicity of the Book of Mormon record is crucial. We cannot exercise faith in that which is untrue, nor can “doctrinal fiction’”have normative value in our lives. Too often the undergirding assumption of those who cast doubt on the historicity of the Book of Mormon, in whole or in part, is a denial of the supernatural and a refusal to admit of revelation and predictive prophecy (Selected Writings of Robert L. Millet: Gospel Scholars Series, p. 93).

The one exception is with the priesthood/temple ban on those with African heritage, as more than one out of three Millennials believe that this doctrine was inspired by God;

Mormon authority millet says that denial of the historicity of the book of Mormon is a denial of the supernatural.

No it isn’t. It’s just a denial of the book of Mormon.

We have some friends that are LDS.

In listening to them, it sounds more like the organization is morphing into classic “Southern Baptist” based on the language used to describe recent (and many) changes.

I would note Christian churches all over the land, no matter the version served up, are bleeding membership in greater numbers each year. Young folks especially want nothing to do with “organized religion”.

YMMV
