I dissect the 18th chapter of the Koran, and explain why Mohammed didn't understand the difference between history and mythology/fables.

Thanks for posting. Long rambling video but worthy of a listen. Author knows his history.

He mentions that muslims believe the Angel Gabriel would not go into a house because he was afraid of a dog. :-) He gets into the origins of why muslims have this thing about dogs.

Is there a transcript available?
People making videos of themselves rambling is kind of creepy.

Are you OK? Everything going alright?

Making videos of yourself is sometimes indicative of a mental breakdown.

Some productions values would be a great improvement.

Either stand up in front of a live audience (even a small one) and give your talk (important, if they look like they just came in from swimming it won’t be an improvement), or use a powerpoint showing the text you’re referencing or something.

Or it is an excuse to differentiate themselves from other faiths. No pictures lets you differentiate Muslims from Christians who had icons. Hatred of dogs lets them hate on Yazidis who revere dogs.

Didn’t see the video but if this person identified the Angel of Light as anything other than Satan, he has no idea what he is talking about. God is quoted in the Bible (paraphrasing) that he will speak directly to you not through another being. Satan is called the Angel of Light in the Bible as a way to deceive people.

So when their so-called prophet goes into the cave and gets told to read from the “Angel of the Light” (notice I said read because that is the original translation as found in the Qurap), he does so. Any other interpretation of where their so-called prophet is told to recite is false. The mistaken translation stems from the fact people thought their so-called prophet could not read therefore they interpret the word to be recite instead of read. What the Qurap does not say is how their so-called prophet used the nakedness of Khadijah, their so-called prophet’s business wife, to confirm he saw the Angel of the Light.

Anything else is nonsense.

The origin about dogs is that they were used as sentry alarms and since their so-called prophet had aligned himself with thugs and thieves, it was only natural to neutralize the alarm system so as not to alert the owner when they robbed the place. It boils down to being that simple. Black dogs could not be seen at night due to their natural night-time camouflage.

Interesting. The rationale you mentioned could be the real one and the Gabriel story used as a cover. Who knows?

Muhammad took a lot of things from many beliefs.
The cave also could've been from the Sanctuary of Monte Sant'Angelo where a Bishop 100 years before Muhammad talked with the Arch angel Michael.

Another interesting thing "mecca" of the Qur'an had springs, rivers, and lakes. Saudi Arabia Mecca doesn't have any of that.

Yes, there are so many demonstrably false parts of the Koran that it would be easier to do a study of the parts that actually are factual and historically based.

BTW, Islam Critiqued has a great video he just uploaded tackling Mohammed's use of the Alexander Romance.

Gerard Perry is a typical highly intelligent person which I found in life they have very poor communication skills.

I could write a book about these people as my father and most of his friends fit this category.

One person I knew that was extremely intelligent he recognized his deficiencies after his wife explained to him and listening to himself.

He joined toastmasters and got me into it. it helped him but it didn't fix the root problems of his speech. The problem that I found is their mind keeps going as they're speaking and what they think is important changes. This makes it difficult to follow.

The read-through of the Koran is not intended as a scripted, pre-recorded point-by-point refutation of the Koran.

That's why the videos are streamed live, and are aired unedited and uncut.

It's an extemporaneous commentary and dissection of the main problems-historical, scientific, moral, and scxriptural-of each individual surah.

There are no notes-except for some marginalia I use when addressing specific points-which explains why there are occasionally tangents that touch upon unrelated topics.

The videos are intended for the layman-or woman-dealing with Dawah and occasional encounters with Muslim proselytization, and equipping them with information they can use to rebut the most commonly used proselytization tactics.

It's also intended to illuminate the reality of the Koran for those nominal Muslims who have never actually read the Koran, and therefore, are under the impression that it actually is a divinely created text.

As I point out in another video, if you want a more in-depth, scholarly or professionally prepared video that addresses the Koran and the Hadith, there are several fantastic Youtube channels out there, e.g. Islam Critiqued, Acts 17 Apologetics, DCCI Ministries, The Arabian Prophet, Pfander Films, Socco Films, among others.

I recognized right off that your understanding of the Qur'an was exceptional. The Qur'an and Hadith are poorly worded and very poorly organized. To understand these writings in the context they meant is a daunting task.

Taking a scrambled mess then deconstructing a piece of these writings for the layman to understand requires a number of tangents that can confuse the layman.

Gabriel never appears in the qurap nor the hadiths. It’s a play so that bible thumpers think the qurap and islime is just another religion. For example when Abraham sets off into the desert with Isaac and comes to Mecca.
They have no water so Abraham sets his staff on the ground and water gushes forth from the sand. What do the mooslimes do today to that well? They throw rocks at it. Heck there is even strong theory based off the description of Mecca that today where Mecca is, is not the true city of Mecca. Another discussion for another day.

Too many Bible stories were convoluted and changed to favor Islime. Islime is not an Abrahamic religion. It is a cult brought about by theives and thugs. Their so-called prophet was one of the lowest and coniving of the bunch. Their so-called prophet didn’t see or reveal anything that was not to his advantage. Including the made up story of the cave to prove he was a so-called prophet (messenger).
