Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

(Old Testament)
2 Kings 25
Jehoiachin Released
27 In the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the year Awel-Marduk became king of Babylon, he released Jehoiachin king of Judah from prison. He did this on the twenty-seventh day of the twelfth month. 28 He spoke kindly to him and gave him a seat of honor higher than those of the other kings who were with him in Babylon. 29 So Jehoiachin put aside his prison clothes and for the rest of his life ate regularly at the kings table. 30 Day by day the king gave Jehoiachin a regular allowance as long as he lived.
New International Version (NIV)(End of Scripture Passage)
We don't know why Jehoiachin/Zedekiak was eventually "pardoned", but it may have been part of a general amnesty that was decreed upon the coronation of a new king (Awal-Marduk).

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty and Everlasting Father,
How Glorious and Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
Almighty and Eternal,
Glorious and Transcendent,
Rock of Ages,
Ancient of Days,
King of Kings,
and Lord of Lords!
Without You, any attempt to build our house, or our Nation, is in vain.
For in You, Father, is our Provision,
Our Security,
Our Prosperity,
and Our Future.
We are nothing without You.
With This in Mind,
We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection and Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.
We Pray that the Terrible practice of Abortion will be brought to an end,
Both in Our Own Country and in Israel.
We Pray that every Child that is conceived will be cherished and loved.
We Pray that no child shall be taught the ways of terrorism,
and that all will have a chance to learn the Truth.
This we pray, in Faith,
knowing that it is not Your Will that any should perish.
We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Thus ends the Book of 2 Kings. This is followed in our Bibles by 1 & 2 Chronicles, which tell the same story, only with more details and genealogies. But we won't be going there this time around. 1 & 2 Samuel, followed by 1 & 2 Kings was an heroic effort for us all, as it has a lot of Ancient History and dark, dismal themes about bad kings who defy God. But look! It ends on a ray of hope for the future! The wicked ex-king Zedekiah is pardoned, sprung from prison, given clean clothes, and invited to the king's table. From this account, we can see that he has his own name back too. He is no longer "Zedekiah, fake king, renegade traitor, blind prisoner, vassal puppet to the kingdom of Babylon" but Jehoiachin, robed in king's robes, and sitting at the king's table forever. And there is nothing he did to make him deserve this!
Tomorrow, we will pick up this continuing story with the Prophetic Book of Daniel.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the purposes of His heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His inheritance! (Psalm 33)
God Bless America!

We have looked at Daniel before on this Thread (9 years is a LONG tine, LOL) but this will be the first time we examine it in the Historical Context of the “History Portion” of the Bible. Daniel picks up the thread as a continuation of the Narrative begun in Genesis 12 (The Call of Abraham) all the way through the Exodus, the time of the Judges, the First Kings, the divided Kingdom, and the Babylonian Exile.
The Book of Daniel makes it PERSONAL.
