The State of Aloha turned 60 today.
It was the day, of course, that America turned 50.
The letter string spelling out "aloha" [אלוהה] only appears in one place in the Bible. It's in reverse in the beginning of verse 4:
Isaiah 42
1. Behold my servant, whom I uphold; my elect, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit upon him; he shall bring forth judgment to the nations:
2. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street:
3. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the dimly burning flax shall he not quench; he shall bring forth judgment to truth:
4. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he has set judgment in the earth; and the islands shall wait for his Torah:
He shall not fail nor be discouraged:
לא יכהה ולא ירוץ
"Aloha"
and the islands shall wait for his Torah...
That would be the message to GO up, because Highway 60 is the "Way of the Patriarchs", which goes up. Just like the sign says: "GO".

"Apollo 50 GO"

"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
It's the state of aloha, shalom, peace. The way of the Patriarchs.
50 (the letter nun) joined with 60 (the letter samech) spells "nes" [נס], miracle.
nes: miracle, flag, standard, banner...
Perhaps related to נָשָׂא (nasá, to carry).
"Perhaps." That's funny.
The only reason Hawaii was made 50 was to balance out the conservative state of Alaska, the 49th.
We were better off with Hawaii and its 2 leftist senators.
Will there be more states? Puerto Rico, Guam, Virgin islands, the district of Columbia, or any other America possessions??
Not to mention the Kenyan from Indonesia.......
Love hawaaii
Particularly Kauai A part of my heart resides there in Napali
Greenland
lol
Nope. Not in our lifetime. We are more likely to see states break away once the debt load becomes unmanageable.
Just curious as to what you mean by “break away”...?
Sorry, it’s the 60th anniversary of the US taking over Hawaii. It should never have happened that way. It is nothing to celebrate.
It is politically incorrect to be in favor of Statehood for Hawaii, since it was “stolen” from the native Hawaiians. So marking the day is totally ignored by the state and local governments, even though they take the day off from work.
At least the USA has a little bit of paradise.
Agreed.
It’s a horrible story and nothing to celebrate at all.
Believe it or not, there is a trail going up the bluff far side of the valley.
We got the o-riginal Hawaii 5-0.
That should count for something.
I’ve been there and hiked it. Wild horses and waterfalls are awesome too.
Hawaii should NOT be a state. It has NOTHING in common with the United States. It should no more be a state than the Virgin Islands, the Marshall Islands or Puerto Rico.
