ICELAND, August 19, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) Iceland, which aborts nearly 100 percent of babies diagnosed with Down syndrome, has held a funeral for a glacier.
The glacier, known as Okjökull or Ok, covered 6.2 square miles in 1890. However, by 2012, it had shrunk to less than 0.3 miles, and in 2014 Icelandic scientists decided it was no longer moving.
An Icelandic geologist, Oddur Sigurðsson, told Agence France-Presse that ...We made the decision that this was no longer a living glacier, it was only dead ice, it was not moving.
Therefore about 100 people, including Icelands prime minister, Katrín Jakobsdóttir, and Irelands former president Mary Robinson, held a ceremony where the glacier used to be on Sunday to commemorate its passing. A bilingual Icelandic-English plaque entitled A letter to the future was affixed to a rocky outcropping.
Ok is the first Icelandic glacier to lose its status as a glacier, it reads.
In the next 200 years, all our glaciers are expected to follow the same path. This monument is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it.
According to Breitbart, Sigurðsson brought a death certificate to the memorial service to bring attention to the climate crisis.
Pope Francis alluded to the extinct glacier earlier this month when he was interviewed by Italian newspaper La Stampa. While explaining the relationship between his encyclical Laudato Si and the upcoming Synod on the Amazon, Francis said, The other day, I read about a huge glacier in Iceland that melted almost completely: they built a funeral monument.
But one sad irony about the disappearing Icelandic glaciers is that babies with Down syndrome regularly disappear from Iceland. In fact, almost everyone with Downs is aborted before he or she is born. In 2009, only three babies in Iceland were born with the genetic condition. By 2017, no Down Syndrome baby had been born there in five years.
In 2017, Breitbart reported that an Icelandic geneticist had boasted about the eradication of Down syndrome from his country.
My understanding is that we have basically eradicated, almost, Down syndrome from our society that there is hardly ever a child with Down syndrome in Iceland anymore, said Kari Stefansson.
Helga Sol Olafsdottir, a counsellor at Landspitali University Hospital, indicated that she didnt think the abortion of babies with Down sydrome was wrong.
We dont look at abortion as a murder, she said. We look at it as a thing that we ended.
Iceland has volcanoes. I would worry more about the seismic actions of the island’s vulcanism rather than pretend global warming is the cause.
Don’t look to Francis for sound moral leadership. I’m Catholic and even I don’t.
Volcanoes are definitely local warming.
Earth to Pope. Glaciers are bad. Frozen ground. Flatten everything. We are at the end of the inter glacial. What you see is normal. They all will soon be returning, however unless of course you do something productive like pray for warmth.
Bergoglio mentioned a funeral monument for a glacier and referenced it to his Laudato Si.
Get over yourself.
Any mention of eliminating the parents who spawned the babies to stop the problem?
“We know he doesn’t care about abortion”
I disagree. Francis recently described abortion as a practice “akin to the Nazis, but with white gloves.”
“Methinks Benedict stepped down before he was murdered.”
In one of his interview books with Seewald, Pope Benedict was asked if he feared assassination. He simply replied, “No.” I don’t think fear of death had anything to do with his resignation.
Abortionist praised by Pope speaks at Catholic church, pro-life protesters kicked out
Despite her abortion advocacy, Emma Bonino was praised by Pope Francis in 2016 as a forgotten great because of her work with refugees.
Between her abortion activism and being an abortionist herself, Bonino is directly or indirectly responsible for the deaths of roughly six million Italian babies between 1968 and today.
“population control agenda”
In an early address to the European Parliament, Francis told them that they weren’t replacing themselves and were in the midst of a demographic crisis. He has described population control programs in the third world as attempts at “ideological colonization.”
I don’t like Francis praising Pro-Abortion people for their positive work in other areas but he has been vehement in his condemnations of abortion.

Francis honors Jeffrey Sachs at ecological meeting
Jeffrey Sachs, above, second from the left, is one of the main promoters of the UN's abortionist policies around the world. He holds UN titles such as director of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). He also serves as special advisor to the UN Secretary on the Millennium Development Goals.
He uses these positions to argue that, to prevent poverty and advance economic development, abortion and mass sterilization must be enforced by the UN in many countries through financial pressure and government policies.
Further, Sachs is an economist who is a close collaborator with magnate George Soros. It is not rare that Sach's environmental initiatives bring substantial gains to Soros investments.
After Francis' inauguration, Sachs has received preferential treatment at the Vatican. He is habitually quoted as being one of the minds behind the Vatican ecological program, including the draft of Francis' Encyclical Laudato si.
On May 27, 2019, the Vatican Pontifical Academy of Sciences sponsored the meeting "Climate Change and New Evidence from Science, Engineering and Policy." Sachs was chosen to be the guest of honor, sitting at the right side of the Pope, above.
We wonder whether or not the Vatican's ecological efforts to make Amazonia a region independent of the local governments is also a plan orchestrated by Soros' friend...
He sure didn’t seem to be vehemently condemning Emma Bonino or Jeffery Sachs.
Like I said in post 31, I don’t like it when he tries to work with people on issues apart from abortion while those people are Pro-Abortion.
You act as if he hasn’t condemned evils like abortion, population control, and gender theory at all, but he has.
Can an argument be made that the pope is causing confusion in the Church with regard to his seemingly contradictory statements? Yes.
Has he?
Are you hiding behind the old saying,
“Do as I say, not what I do,” ?
And just what is the positive work Francis and Jeffery Sachs are doing together? How about Francis and Emma Bonino? What good works are they doing?
I was just going to search for those rebuttal points.
My point is simply that your posts on here make it seem as if everything Francis does is scandalous and/or evil. Such a picture of his words and actions is incomplete and inaccurate.
