LA mayor meets with Pope Francis
The two discussed climate change, poverty, and immigration at Vatican

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti met Pope Francis in a private audience at the Vatican Friday, where the two discussed “the priorities of climate change, young people, poverty, and immigration.”

“I’m so grateful to Pope Francis for the deep and humbling honor of meeting with me at the Vatican today,” Garcetti said in a statement released Friday.

“I was moved by his inspired words about matters that will shape the future of our world, and to have the chance to speak to him about our mutual work to save this planet and serve our fellow human beings.”

According to Garcetti, the Holy Father “shared greetings for the people of Los Angeles” during their encounter.

At least by meeting at the Vatican instead of on the streets and sidewalks of LA, Frankie won’t have the scrape the **** off of his sandals.

"to save this planet..."

I thought the mission of Jesus was to save souls. I guess times has changed.

This pope talks a lot of guff about the President.

Meanwhile this Pope’s own dialogue reminds us of Pope Clement V, the first Avignon ‘Pope’ — who also followed a Pope Benedict.

Clement was a heretic who repressed the Knights Templar, and served solely at the pleasure of King Philip IV, who used Clement as a simple-minded cudgel to expropriate the Templars wealth.

The Liturgy is corrupted beyond hope until Francis is succeeded.

Did the Pope say anything about the rats?

I wonder if Garcetti convinced the Pope that the rat infested homeless situation here in LA is due to our rising property values and their inability to afford the price of a single family home in LA.

The Mission of the Church is to glorify Jesus
Jesus will Point us to the Father
He will instruct us what to do
If we are to “ Save the Planet” as glorifying His Act of Creation
Then I understand

But it is in that order

The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Then he said to the tree, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." And his disciples heard him say it.

When evening came, Jesus and his disciples went out of the city. In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. Peter remembered and said to Jesus, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!"

What would Pope Frankie have said?

"Tree killer!"

Every time I listen to this Pope pontificate, without Pointing to Jesus, The Father, and The Holy Spirit, Without revering the Word and, from a Catholic Standpoint, the Deposit of Tradition, I cringe inside. He sounds like a clanging symbol, empty of Love of God.

No. ButI notice the pope is called by the blasphemous name Holy Father which is how Jesus addressed the Father.
