Run on back to your daily pope bashing caucus threads. You will be safe there. Is that another threat from you?

If celibacy is DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSED TO SCRIPTURE, you should explain to Jesus that his chosen lifestyle was DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSED TO SCRIPTURE.

And a Catholic poster who is complaining for nothing. It seems you're the one complaining about Catholic apostolic tradition.
Deal with it or you can always leave the Church.

The Council of Trent considered the matter and at its twenty-fourth session decreed that marriage after ordination was invalid You do understand that Trent was replying to the Protestants and just upholding the longstanding practice over and against their innovations, not teaching anything that was new?
The Orthodox, who broke with Rome in 1054, also do not permit marriage after ordination, although they do ordain married men.

There’s nothing to explain. Jesus was celibate. Either imitating Christ’s lifestyle by freely-chosen celibacy is DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSED TO SCRIPTURE or it isn’t.

You're starting to grasp at straws.

Could Jesus have even been married or even consider marriage? What an odd question. It's almost as though you think Jesus wasn't fully human.

Do you know the difference between a “fact” and an “assertion”? Your boldface claim in post 4 is an assertion. I presented a counterargument, based on facts I personally know to be true. Where is your refutation?

You warned me to return to caucus threads for my safety.
Guess what? You don’t scare me.
