Waco day care denies child admission after learning her parents are in same-sex marriage

WACO, Texas — A Waco couple said their daughter was denied admission to a local day care because they are in a lesbian relationship.

Brittney Ready and her wife, Stacey, have been married for two years and have four kids.

Their youngest daughter, Callie, was on the waiting list at Parkview Christian Academy until they got a call Thursday saying the day care finally had an opening.

Brittney wrote on Facebook that the director was sweet and welcoming to the couple and their daughter. It wasn't until they were ready to leave that they ran into problems.

“We go to leave with paperwork in hand only for the administrator to call us into his office to let us know that he heard that Stacey and I our 'mates' and because of that they cannot welcome Callie" Brittney said.

Ready said the director told the couple the day care could not welcome Callie because their christian-based faith would not be able to accept their daughter.

“So does that mean 'unwed parents' cannot enroll their kids? Does that mean 'divorced parents' cannot enroll their children there?" Brittney said. "Sin is sin and Jesus sat and welcomed all the sinners. We were not trying to plague your day care, sir. We are gay. Our daughter is not."

Stacey said it's important to the women that their children receive a christian education.

For example, they mentioned “unwed parents.” Well, unwed parents can marry.

But until they do would they be welcomed at this day care? What about children of parents who had been divorced and remarried?

If interested, the New testament teaching and warning on homosexuality is clearly stated in the 1st chapter of Romans.

I.e., Read Romans 1, if you're interested in the Word of God vs the word of man.

And Jesus's position on divorce and remarriage are clearly stated in Mark 10 and Matthew 5 and Matthew 19.

Jesus spoke of divorce being allowed for sexual immorality/adultery. How would the daycare known if they'd been divorced and remarried?

Secondly, homosexuality/sexual immorality is not to be condoned.

This pair of women are obviously looking for attention and to assert their "right" to sin openly and force others to accept their sin.

having this little girl in this day care, will force the day care to have to explain homo’s to all the other children. It will happen just as soon as the new little girl talks about her two moms - day 1.

I think it is horribly immoral to start explaining things like homos to children under 5.

Agreed. I don’t think those who object to this rejection are thinking this all the way through. Accepting the child would bring a cancer into the school. Because bake sales or other get-togethers would inevitably bring these narcissists into the mix, undoubtedly with PDA’s that would disgust everyone around them with their sin. Seeing what their underlying motives are, those PDA’s would probably take place every day when dropping off or picking up, just to make a “statement.” Because nobody living in that deathstyle would really be interested in the child receiving a Christian education. It simply doesn’t pass the smell test.

Former, repentant homosexuals who want to bring their kids? Great! Otherwise, no. If my child was in such a school and they permitted that serpent into it, I’d pull my child out that day. If I wanted my innocent child exposed to that, I’d throw them in a public school.

All they had to do was find a daycare run by Methodist.

High likelyhood this establishment has been made a target....as all Christian businesses will be. You cannot subject the other children to be exposed to this confusion. This is why sodomites/deviants were removed/destroyed
from the land in the O.T.

In Matthew yes. In Mark He makes no such distinction.

How would the daycare known if they'd been divorced and remarried?

Ask?

Secondly, homosexuality/sexual immorality is not to be condoned.

Nor is adultery I would think.

The NT directed us to not separate ourselves from sinners.

And yet in other places we were told to indeed separate ourselves as in 2 Timothy 3..."But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH SUCH PEOPLE."

I think that if perhaps there is a chance of salvation we should not separate from sinners But what we are seeing in this instance is exactly what Paul was warning us against. I may be wrong but that is my take on it.

You mean Mark made no such distinction. Matthew did. We are talking about 2 eyewitness accounts that each record what they remembered. Combining eyewitness testimony gives a fuller picture of events whether it's police work or even the Bible.

The Bible condemns any sexual immorality.

Of course they picked a Christian Day Care.

It’s an opportunity to bring a lawsuit against them and legislate through litigation.

When I read the headline, I *KNEW* It would be a Christian Day Care.

First, there are plenty of other day care centers around to apply to.

This is a set up and I’d bet everything I won it’s going to be lawsuit time.
As for the claim of wanting a *Christian* education for their children, they can teach them themselves.

It’s the responsibility of the parents in the first place.

This was a lose/lose situation for the day care center and I can’t blame them for not even wanting to go there in the first place.

And Jesus's position on divorce and remarriage are clearly stated in Mark 10 ...

It's interesting that you cited Mark 10, where Jesus says, " "But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

There is no teaching in the Old or New Testament that condones, accepts, enables, empowers - homosexual deviant behavior. NONE! The Word of God calls homosexual deviant behavior SIN!!

The Word (Jesus) taught and teaches us that divorce is not a sin when it's reason is an unfaithful spouse.

So then can we agree that with one possible exception any divorce and remarriage is adultery?

The Bible condemns any sexual immorality.

Agreed.

Divorce is allowed in the case of sexual immorality by one spouse. I see no reason for the wronged spouse not to remarry.

I hope that truly biblical Christian schools and daycares don’t cave on this issue. It is paramount that they hold the line. These queers are not hapless victims here; they will incrementally infect the organization and make demands that, once ensconced, they will never be able to be denied, not without a lot of legal wrangling.
