You know, repeating the same talking points over and over doesn’t make you win the argument; it makes you sound pompous.
In Scripture, ‘church’ is an assembly of believers, both individual congregations and collectively across the world.
That means that ‘which Church’ is everyone who believes in Christ and confesses him as Lord. In addition to individual congregations of Christian believers that preach and teach the Gospel in its purity.
Roman Catholicism is no ‘One true church’ because A: they teach in blatant contradiction to Scripture in even their official doctrine. B: Their leaders are unrepentant sinners who teach falsehoods, and YOU haven’t thrown them out or removed them from among you. Indeed, your congregations still embrace them.
I don't think 'pompous' covers it at all!
It doesnt make them sound pompous. It makes them sound shallow. They only have one or two arrows in their quiver so they have to keep repeating themselves. Uh oh got close to the Truth here. Better distract quickly. Look! Luther! See I can be a Catholic too!
