Kingston Archbishop Michael Mulhall issued a statement on the archdiocese’s website late Friday afternoon, calling the priest’s statement “inappropriate.”

“I did not sanction this message, and it does not reflect the spirit of accompanying charity and compassion that should always characterize our faith.

Romans I says God’s judgment is not only on those who practice homosexuality but also on those who approve of it.

It’s remarkable how quickly the LGBT crowd has gained the upper hand. Growing up in the San Francisco area, I can remember old-school priests regularly blasting the “pride” events (or whatever they called it back then; gay freedom day?) back in the ‘80s and no one was surprised or angry. Thirty years ago, the priest’s views would have been mainstream and non-controversial. Now, they’re an outlier.

“Though they know God’s decree that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do them but approve those who practice them.” (Romans 1:32)

By tomorrow, Big Media will preface “Embattled” before his name, and upgrade the “backlash” against him.

Then popie Frankie will make an example of him.

Romans 1:18-32:18: The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Isn’t Pride the greatest of the seven deadly sins?

A Catholic Catholic-priest.

I fully expect the Canadian government to prosecute him.

If you’ve ever read of La Cristiada in Mexico, it reminds me of the Church today. Most of the Mexican Bishops, and Archbishops were NOT on the side of Faithful Catholics.

I only recall two who were not fence sitters or collaborators with the Secular Government which suppressed the Catholic Faithful.

Why do you have to be 'proud' about where you insert your genitalia???

I couldn't care less about what you do behind closed doors ... I just don't want to hear about it.

"the spirit of accompanying charity and compassion"

Does this dumb-ass archbishop understand that even HIS comments are unacceptable to the Gaystapo? "Charity and compassion" implies that there is something wrong with homosexuals that we must be charitable and compassionate about, as if they have some sort of illness, but the homosexual position is that there is nothing wrong with them.

Moreover, there was nothing uncharitable about the priest's message; he was simply making an obvious deduction from Church teaching, i.e., that Catholics should not attend an event which celebrates sin and which - moreover - is usually characterized by overt lewdness.
