Metmom raises an excellent question. Given that 2 Thessalonians was one of Paul's earliest works (probably his second), it is entirely possible that the unwritten traditions referred to in 2 Thessalonians may have subsequently appeared in later epistles. While the exhortation was valid to the Thessalonians, it might not be to us if the traditions referred to were put to print later by Paul or another of the NT writers.
