But thank you for giving us example #5254625 of ... (drum roll)...
The Claude Paradigm
You Catholics are wrong because you believe X.
We dont believe X.
Wrong again. Yes you do.
Careful re-reading often improves reading comprehension.
My catechism says Mary is a co-mediatrix...
But that's the danger of some of Rome's non-Scriptural positions regarding Mary.
There are some Roman Catholic writers who give the impression that it is Mary who is telling Jesus what to do in Heaven and He does it. They even suggest God does as she commands.
This is the error one runs into when one departs from Scripture as your source of Truth in these matters.
You mean once you became "accepted in the Beloved" on His account, then your eyes were opened to the nature of such a Catholic tradition by decree.
You pitiful dead soul Catholic, is it not your religion which asserts that Mary is the Mother of God? Is it not your religion which claims Mary's spouse is The Holy Spirit? And still you cannot see the foolishness you spout constantly on these threads! You have GOD fathering Jesus and assert that Jesus is God, so God is both the son of this humble woman and her husband. But I do not expect your catholicist mind to grasp the 'imp'lications ...
Thank you and God bless you.
Glad to be of service in exposing the blasphemies and heresies of your religion, which is not Christ-ianity but an ‘other religion’ as Paul put it.
Part of the problem is that Catholics here have told me Mary was the spouse of the Holy Spirit.
Which of course is bogus.
She was married to Joseph and they consummated the marriage after Jesus was born.
Mary would not cheat on Joseph.
ain’t that the truth, and they’re all 100% right
“...which is not Christ-ianity but an other religion as Paul put it.”
The pagan cult of mother-and-child worship began long before RC picked up on it. They’ve been very successful in making it appear truthful.
I guess you didn’t read the part about “Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. It’s just a verse to be ignored, like “this is my body”
MHGinTN: "The body of ALL BELIEVERS since Pentecost Spirit Day IS THE BRIDE OF CHRIST"
What are you fussing about? I believe that. That's what the Catholic Church has been teaching since the first century AD. I'd never deny that in a million years. But thank you for giving us example #5254624 of ... (drum roll)... The Claude Paradigm You Catholics are wrong because you believe X. We dont believe X.
Rather, you are ignoring your statement that he responded to, which made Revelation 22:17 ("The Spirit and the Bride say, "Come!") apply to Mary in particular, whereas as shown , the only bride of Christ in Scripture is never one person, but the corporate body of Christ. (Colossians 1:18)
The church which the Lord promised would overcome the gates of Hell, the one true church to which He is married, (Ephesians 5:25) the "household of faith," (Galatians 6:10) which uniquely only always consists 100% of true believers, and which spiritual body of Christ is what the Spirit baptizes ever believer into, (1Co. 12:13) while organic fellowships in which they express their faith inevitably become admixtures of wheat and tares, with Catholicism and liberal Protestantism being mostly the latter.
Trying to weasel out of your statement that made Revelation 22:17 apply to Mary in particular by asserting that you also believe the church (or The Church®) is the Bride simply exposes your sophistry more.

Yikes. I didn't say Mary was Jesus' wife. Please calm down. But thank you for giving us example #5254625 of ... (drum roll)... The Claude Paradigm You Catholics are wrong because you believe X. We dont believe X. Wrong again. Yes you do.
Once again you misconstrue what MHGinTN was responding to, which was not what you actually stated but what he argued was the logical consequence of making Mary the mother of God and the wife of God.
Which i am sure you could respond to rather than misconstruing your opposition.
The point is, Gen 3:15 is not a proof-test for the docrine of the Immaculate Conception: please note that the doctrine does not depend on the pronoun she for proof. The pronoun refers to her [Eves] seed.
Here''s the quotation of Genesis 3:15 in New American Bible, Revised Edition (NABRE)
I will put enmity between you and the woman,The word is, at its simplest, "seed," meaning offspring. Here it is construed as a collective singular; hence, the pronoun "they."
and between your offspring and hers;
They will strike at your head,
while you strike at their heel.
The New American Bible Revised Edition (NABRE) is an English-language Catholic Bible translation.
Alternatively, the New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (NRSVCE)construes "seed" or "offspring" in an equally legitimate singular sense; hence the pronoun "he":
I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and hers;
he will strike your head,
and you will strike his heel.
I hope you don't mind that I'm agreeing with you.
Blasphemy and apostasy. There is one mediator between God and man and that is Jesus Christ
Mary conceived in her womb and gave birth to Jesus Christ Our Lord. He is God. This does not mean she gave birth to the Trinity.
I think we both realize that. Whether this other party in TN realizes that, I do not know.
