Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar (Proverbs 30:5-6).
Ronnie Bell, a past president of Bob Jones University, a fundamental college, said that God only inspired the original writings and never intended for any translation to be inspired. But folks, that's a lie. What God inspired, He intended to preserve. He didn't leave it up to you and I to preserve it; you see, if He left it up to people to preserve it then obviously we would have left something out. We wouldn't have gotten all these manuscripts and all this stuff, and we wouldnt know what to put in.it. If God didn't do it, it would be impossible for men to do it. Yet there are some that would like us to forget that with God, all things are possible (Mark 10:27).
Right there is an impossible commandment, where He says, add thou not unto his words, that's an impossible commandment, if he leaves it up to you or me to do it; because we would surely add something. But since he determined to do it Himself, then it's not impossible. David said, Thou shalt preserve them, it is not the church, nor the biblical scholars, nor the critics, nor the schools that shall preserve them, but God! You remember that! It's not up to you and me.
So, when God wants to preserve his Bible, He just gathers men together and he says, Okay, write it like this, fellows. Thats all there is to it. And faithful men of God, wrote it like He said to write it.
If you study those King James Bible translators, they didn't write it like a lot of them believe it. A lot of them did not believe in immersion, yet they wrote baptism in there and they said baptism was a burial (Romans chapter 6). They would not have put it that way, they did not believe in immersion. You can see God had His hand on that book.
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you (Deuteronomy 4:2).
The warning here in Proverbs 30:5,6.
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book (Revelation 22:18-19).
Three warnings, two of them in the Old Testament; you would think that would be enough. Every one of these new Bibles takes out hundreds of verses and hundreds of words out of the New Testament. Add thou not unto his words lest . . . thou be found a liar!
Let’s read a chapter of Proverbs a day and see what God might have for us. As the Lord leads, share with us what God has shown you in a special way and by His grace let us build up a devotional repository. Let’s keep our knives and forks handy for some daily bread!
If anyone would like to be added to the ping list, please let me know either by post or by p.m.
Concerning the issue of salvation, one gross attack should be enough, but here are two. Im not going to argue the point; one can research the KJB online.
As the result of sin, every person born into the world deserves to be eternally separated from God. In fact, Adams sin created this division 6000 years ago, passing it upon all future generations. Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned (Romans 5:12). However, gods eternal plan provided for the redemption of man from the very beginning. Man was not left without hope.
The Lord Jesus Christ would provide the ultimate sacrifice as payment for our sins. His blood shed on the cross of Calvary. The Bible plainly teaches that he descended from heavens glory to save sinners. Since we have all sinned (Romans 3:23), He came to save each and every one of us from the penalty that we deserve; eternal separation from a holy, perfect, and just God.
KJB (Luke 9:55) But he turned and rebuked them and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. (56) For the son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.
The Bible emphasizes that Jesus came to save and not to destroy men’s lives! History clearly reveals that religion has done just the opposite: destroyed much and saved few. Christ came to save from the penalty of sin: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).
By removing 70% of this passage from Luke, the NIV fails to state Christs mission for becoming a man.
NIV (Luke 9:55) but Jesus turned and rebuked them, (56) and they went to another village.
The Bible frequently provides multiple witnesses in order to emphasize important truths. Consequently, another very clear passage concerning the purpose for God’s becoming a man is found in the book of Matthew. In this instance, the verse tells exactly who He came to save: the lost.
KJB (Matthew 18:11) For the son of man is come to save that which was lost.
One should always be mindful of this great truth and never tire of hearing it repeated. The Lord Jesus Christ came to save the lost! This truth is attacked in every modern version on the market. Now read the same verse in the NIV.
NIV (verse 10) See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you their Angels in heaven always see the face of my father in heaven.
NIV (verse 11)
NIV (verse 12) what do you think if a man owns a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wondered off?
Did you notice at verse 11 is completely omitted in the in NIV? Who would not want man to know the purpose of God’s son coming to earth? Satan, of course.
There are many other verses missing in these modern versions. Here are more references missing from the modern counterfeit bibles.
Matthew 17:21
Matthew 23:14
Mark 7:16
Mark 9:44
Mark 9:46
Mark 11:26
Mark 15:28
Luke 17:36
Luke 23:17
John 5:4
Acts 15:34
Acts 24:7
Acts 28:29
Romans 16:24
I John 5:7
There are others.
Ultimately, however, you are the final authority on this matter, not God.
Thanks. I’ve always relied on my KJV and avoided other versions. I must admit not having paid close enough attention to the ‘newer’ versions. Time to research . . .
“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter” (Proverbs 25:2).
Revelation 1:6 tells us that we that are saved are “kings and priests,” so it is your privilege to search out this matter. God bless you in your quest.
