Q: Why is Pope Francis now authorizing pilgrimages to Medjugorie?
A: It is the work of the devil.
(Probably. I dont like to entirely rule out the possibility of Gods will be done there somehow, despite the commercialism and chicanery).
As in God wills multiple religions?
Or that God wills some people to break the sixth commandment because it is impossible for them to obey?
No, Gods will doesnt have to involve phony after-the-fact rationalizations.
So are you a Medjugorie proponent, or not?
I went to Assisi years ago. Very lovely, holy place. Stayed at a very good hotel and at dinner, was seated next to a couple who had just come from Medjugorie.
They went on and on and on about it.
Went to my room after dinner. Slept fitfully. horrible nightmares about demons. My bedroom seemed full of them.
I think Medjugorjie is a curse. Stay away. And stay away from this miserable heretic SOB pope.
I know nothing about Medjugorjie
However, fraud and fakery is everywhere as well as delusional thought.
YMMV
I never believed in Medjugorie and I know so many people who have been there..
No, definitely not.
'We have chained a saint'
Jesus said: (Matthew 7:17 and Luke 6:43-45)
Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit. Matthew 7:17-18
"A good tree does not bear rotten fruit, nor does a rotten tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not pick figs from thornbushes, nor do they gather grapes from brambles." Luke 6:43-45
When a person was 'troubled' about Garabandal (Joey Lomangino) he asked Padre Pio about this, and Padre Pio told Joey to go see for himself.
Though Joey was not cured of his blindness, he did post a website about Padre Pio and a booklet about Padre Pio which I have. There are good things in the book written about Padre Pio.
If your faith is weak, do not go to Mejugorie. However, back in the 1990's there was much 'good fruit' from Medjugorie. Pilgrims were asked to pray and fast.
I have no opinion on Medjugorie. I have a very strong opinion on the apparitions at Holy Trinity Church in Hrushiv, Ukraine.
Josyp Terelya wrote two books Witness and Kingdom of the Spirit. I am SKEPTICAL about some of the 'VISIONS' Josyp wrote about, but in one of the books he claims to have seen a war between China and Russia, and this frightened him.
While he was in prison by the KGB/FSB in the Soviet Union, he PROPERLY drew a picture that was captured on the cover of Time magazine: supposedly showing a 'Crucified Jesus' in the Mushroom cloud of a Hydrogen Bomb test in the Pacific Ocean.
I am NOT a person of 'little faith'.
I am ALWAYS skeptical about VISIONS and PROPHECIES.
He: Charismatic Catholic priest passionately in love with Jesus. Myself: Raised Catholic, lived in darkness through my adolescence and young adulthood, came to faith in Jesus at age 27. Vibrant walk with my Redeemer in mostly non-denominational fellowships. Im naturally a skeptic, but I looked forward to the journey as a great freelance photographic opportunity. Some of what is written in the main article I can attest to, but theres far more in the comments from Lionel that reflect my total experience.
The village is actually a cluster of several small agricultural communities. It is an eclectic mix of tight, winding, old-world streets lined with a glut of souvenir shops. Every kind of sacred trinket, icon, or memento imaginable can be found, a thousand times over, along with some wickedly potent homemade brandies.
The dirt path that ran from our modern hotel, through farm fields and vineyards, to St. James Church was unfailingly lined with humble folk selling their own handmade jewelry, wooden plaques, fruits from their land, and some of the most exquisite lace Ive seen.
But what began for me as a photo safari with my pilgrim friend became a most powerful encounter with the living God of the universe- an encounter Ill never forget. And what also struck me about the atmosphere in general- and about the Masses in particular- was the humble reverence that pervaded the place. I recognized quickly that is something weve cast aside in America. The awe and reverence there was palatable
Its true that commercialism has overtaken a large part of what once was, as I understand, a humble agrarian community. Multi-story hotels tower over farm fields. Tour buses clog narrow streets. Gelato stands and cafes crowd next to more souvenir shops. Gypsey vixens are never far from sight.
But then there are the holy hours of adorations and venerations, where literally thousands gather in a large, open-air amphitheater to worship. The silence in that space was profound; it had real, supernatural weight to it. Then there was the very moving evening in St. James Churchs prayer garden, watching the faithful silently light ruby votives arranged on large wooden banks, then kneel and pray.
This was NOT the enemys playground. Though I am a skeptic, that doesnt mean Im without hunger for the riches of Gods Kingdom on earth. Jesus reminds us that it is here, that it is among us. Sure, in the natural, I saw more than a few things that were, without question, worldly. On the other hand, I experienced so many things that WERE of God, that pointed me directly to Him, that I can unreservedly say that He met me there, personally. My faith was not diluted by having been to Medjugorie. To the contrary, it was unshakably deepened at a very personal place.

Does the writer use an old Atlas or garage sale globe?
Medjugorie. No there there.
Waste of time. Bergoglio loves deception.
