I wonder if Joseph Smith used the same stone for some of his interpretation of the Golden Plates into the Book of Mormon? This isnt just some silly stuff that some guy said - it was given to him as a vision of some sort by the Father, in the name of Jesus. But it wasn't given to him by the Father in the name of Jesus because that would mean the Holy Spirit contradicts Himself. It may very well have not been all from Joseph Smith's own creative mind but the devil and his demons could have been leading him. Look how many people have been taken in by this cult.

Jesus said, “I and the Father are one.” It is this statement, among others, that caused the Scribes and Pharisees, the Jewish priests, to condemn Jesus and call for His death. There is only one who is perfect, which of course, is God. God came to earth in the person of Jesus, to be sacrificed as the atonement for the sins of the world, because only the sinless Lamb of God could take the sins of the world on Himself, in order that we do not have to suffer for our sins, through our belief in Him.
This article does a much better explanation of the trinity, than I can:

The city of Salt Lake City is the least LDS in the State of Utah (only about 50% or so now). If
one compares Utah to the US as a whole, the crime rates are slightly better:
UTAH VIOLENT CRIMES
POPULATION: 3,101,833
MURDER RAPE ROBBERY ASSAULT
Report Total 73 1,697 1,468 4,172
Rate per 1,000 0.02 0.55 0.47 1.35
UNITED STATES VIOLENT CRIMES

Additional error of Mormonism. This is what happens when you start going beyond Scripture as Mormonism and other denominations do.
As to whether we worship a different Jesus, we say again: We accept and endorse the testimony of the New Testament writers. Jesus is the promised Messiah, the resurrection and the life (John 11:25), literally the light of the world (John 8:12). Everything that testifies of His divine birth, His goodness, His transforming power and His godhood, we embrace enthusiastically. But we also rejoice in the additional knowledge latter-day prophets have provided about our Lord and Savior. President Brigham Young thus declared that
we, the Latter-day Saints, take the liberty of believing more than our Christian brethren: we not only believe ... the Bible, but ... the whole of the plan of salvation that Jesus has given to us. Do we differ from others who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ? No, only in believing more.[x]
https://www.mormonnewsroom.org/article/what-mormons-believe-about-jesus-christ,p> Mormonism is in error, as are others, who equate other writings to be as valid as Scripture.

Joseph Smith arose out of Protestant roots, but could not figure out who was who in the zoo, so to speak, so he adopted the model and started a new religious movement to try to
re-create or
re-construct the original.
My mind at times was greatly excited, the cry and tumult were so great and incessant. The Presbyterians were most decided against the Baptists and Methodists, and used all the powers of both reason and sophistry to prove their errors, or, at least, to make the people think they were in error. On the other hand, the Baptists and Methodists in their turn were equally zealous in endeavoring to establish their own tenets and disprove all others. 10 In the midst of this war of words and tumult of opinions, I often said to myself: What is to be done? Who of all these parties are right; or, are they all wrong together? If any one of them be aright, which is it, and how shall I know it? 11 While I was laboring under the extreme difficulties caused by the contests of these parties of religionists, I was one day reading the Epistle of aJames, first chapter and fifth verse, which reads: If any of you lack bwisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
His mother, Lucy Mack, came from a Connecticut family that had disengaged from conventional Congregationalism and leaned toward Seekerism, a movement that looked for a new revelation to restore true Christianity. Although privately religious, the family rarely attended church, and after they moved to Palmyra they became involved in magic and treasure-seeking. Lucy Smith attended Presbyterian meetings, but her husband refused to accompany her, and Joseph, Jr., remained at home with his father.
Seeker, member of any of numerous small groups of separatist Puritans in 16th-century England who sought new prophets to reveal Gods true church. Seekers subscribed to the principles of Caspar Schwenckfeld of Lower Silesia, Sebastian Franck of Swabia, Dirck Coornhert of the Netherlands, and other reformers who denied the effectiveness as a means of salvation of all external forms of religion, such as the sacraments, baptism, and the Scriptures. Their services were silent meetings at which members spoke only when inspired to do so. The Seekers gave rise to the Society of Friends (Quakers). Persecuted in Europe, many settled in Rhode Island, whose founder, Roger Williams, professed Seeker ideas and advocated religious freedom for all.

I dont see the rainbow flag flying in front of Mormon churches as I do in the mainstream churches.Oh, Honey!
You need to get OUT more!!
I'm a MORMON ...
Responses showed significant emotional distress, dramatic loss of trust in Church leaders,
and a dramatic decline in Church Activity as a result of the policy.
Individual stories help us to understand where and how different LGBT Mormons find hope,
and why discussion about the Church can be so polarizing.

You will notice perhaps the condemnation of Mormonism as a false religion by many of the non-Roman Catholics on this thread.
Mormonism errors in a great many areas one of which is relying upon non-Scriptural sources for many of their doctrines.
It's what happens when "tradition" is placed on par, and in cases, allowed to exceed Scripture.

Figure |
Joseph Smith Explanation[52] |
Explanation by non-Mormon and Mormon Egyptologists (quotes are from Deveria)[25][43][53] |
1 |
Kolob, signifying the first creation, nearest to the celestial, or the residence of God. First in government, the last pertaining to the measurement of time. The measurement according to celestial time, which celestial time signifies one day to a cubit. One day in Kolob is equal to a thousand years according to the measurement of this earth, which is called by the Egyptians Jah-oh-eh. |
"The spirit of the four elements (according to Champollion), or rather of the four winds, or the four cardinal points; the soul of the terrestrial world. This god is always represented with four rams' heads, and his image has certainly been altered here. They have also evidently made a very clumsy attempt at copying the double human head of the god figured above, fig. 2, instead of the four rams' heads. The word Jah-oh-eh has nothing Egyptian in it; it resembles the Hebrew word [redacted] badly transcribed." (emphasis in original) The name hieroglyph above the central figure is Chnm-Re, the Egyptian "First Creator" god who organized everything out of the primordial chaos. |

Joseph Smith came from Protestant roots and they so utterly confused him that he adopted that model and started a new faith community to try to restore/reconstruct Christianity.

Nobody ever claimed that or implied that, so stop putting words in people's mouths. It's a Rabbit Hole tactic or a Red Herring one.
Or; just maybe; a political one; like the wannabe civil servant who states, "Thank you for that question." and then ignores it and rambles on with what HE/she wants to talk about.

It's not going to end....Like the old story about the starfish stranded to die on the shore after a storm.
Two fellas were walking along and one was picking then up and tossing them back into the ocean.
The other said, "Why are you DOING that? There are hundreds; THOUSANDS even!
"You cannot make a difference!!"
"To THIS one I'll make a difference."; as he flung yet another one into the life-saving water.

So, are you implying, then, that the additions that Smith made to the Bible ARE everything there is to know about God? Even though the Mormon Creed implies the bible to be inaccurate; it is still included; in it's entirety; in every Quad printed.

So, are you implying, then, that the additions that Smith made to the Bible ARE everything there is to know about God? The Changes and Additions to which you refer are to be found in the 'Inspired' Version: the JST - Joseph Smith Translation.
And after ALL the work that JS did in recording the changes that GOD told him to make; the leadership in SLC does not consider it to be 'scripture'!

Do they accept Jesus? Lots of Christian religions have some far-out ideas that aren’t in order with the Bible - Catholicism for instance...only requirement to be a Christian is to believe in Christ as the Savior.

the leadership in SLC does not consider it to be 'scripture'!My guess is that in the HURRY to flee the deadly EXTERMINATIONORDER the document got left behind with the OTHER Mormons who did NOT flee. The ones who became the RLDS folks. (Who have changed THEIR name to Community of Christ.)
