From Vatican Insider:
La gente è esausta dai conflitti del passato»Pope Francis kisses the feet of the leader of South Sudan: enough with wars
The Pontiff kneels before President Salva Kiir and the Vice Presidents designate of the African nation who ought to inaugurate a new government in May: «Peace is possible, the armistice must be respected. People are exahausted by the conflicts of the past.»
Salva Kiir is not a Muslim, but he sure as hell is a murderer.
South Sudan African tribes are Christian and have gone through a long series of persecutions by Islam of the Arab Khartoum government. There’s been some reports here in FR about their revolution but not as much coverage that is deserved.
But he’s worried about getting germs from people kissing the papal ring.
Most of the College of Cardinals needs to go, also.
Yet this “position” is presented as “infallible?”
The position isn't infallible. The only time infallibility is in play is when the Pope is speaking/writing about faith or morals, and specifically says he is speaking infallibly. And that doesn't mean he himself is infallible -- it means that he's saying the Holy Spirit is speaking through him, and the Holy Spirit is infallible.
Him kissing some idiot's feet has nothing to do with it, thank goodness.
I miss our German Shepherd.
Washing feet is an act of service. Kissing feet is an act of worship. (and not of God)
You mean the Pope.
You mean the Pope.
