During that traumatic hour-plus, Bonnie and her husband prayed specifically and solely to Fulton Sheen for his intercession, asking his help alone in pleading their case to God.
.........
According to Scripture, we should pray to God alone.
There is no evidence in Scripture that a departed believer can hear anything on earth.
No Apostle prayed to a departed saint, nor ever taught anyone to do so.
There is no historical evidence anyone ever did this before 100ad, during the lives of the Apostles.
There is no evidence that bishop sheen had any role in this young life.
What we see is a beautiful life spared and parents who loved that baby.
That is the beautiful part of the story.
The rest is extra biblical opinion.
Do you believe in the communion of saints?
Yes.
It becomes not Christianity.
I doubt Fulton Sheen would want this.
.
Nor is there any way to verify that someone else somewhere was not praying to God the Father.
Also Jesus Christ said do NOT worship him.
Try discussing that on a public forum.
“Praise Jesus”?, Not according to Christ.
o He breathed life into the body of man created from earthly elements: Gen. 2:7In the case cited in this article, under close inspection it is claimed that the gift of life was either persistent and/or restored to the infant through the natural residual oxygen remaining from the umbilical transfer, administration of oxygen by he EMT procedures (presumably they severed the umbilical cord); and/or by the supernatural intervention by God when other natural methods failed. This is a well-supported fact.o He answered the intercessory prayer of Elisha: 2 Kings 4:34-35
o He answered the appeal of Martha through the intercessory prayer of Jesus: John 11:3,21-22,41-42,44
o He answered the intercessory prayer of Simon Peter: Acts 9:40
o Jesus as God was able to do so without intercession and out of pure compassion: Lk. 7:12-15
What is rather insolent and impertinent is to presume that
o A physically dead human of religious fame was actually reborn in the spirit and hence in Heaven;My FRiend, do you not agree with me, as I do with you, that there is something fishy about this whole recounting of the incident?o and even if so, able to sense the communication of the earthling and respond to it;
o that the God, Who is omniscient, is not aware of the situation without the shade of Sheen bringing it to His attention;
o that His Will in the matter is less pertinent than that of Sheen, which would be influenced by the preferential will of the concerned earthlings;
o and additionally that the desire to drag the innocent's soul back into the cruel, corrupt, sinful realm for the parents' own gratification rather than letting his soul pass into the hands of The God, to receive His Perfect Love without interruption,
o that the reputation of Fulton Sheen might be glorified, even though that of The Father and His Christ might possibly receive some credit (Is. 42:8, 48:11, Jn. 11:4, 17:24).
