I do not find that argument persuasive. The Samaritans hated the Jews, and any attempts to bring them out of their faith were wrong. However, there was no doubt in the parable of the Good Samaritan who exhibited true charity.
Catholics, the intended targets, are better suited to advise whether polemical language directed against them is hateful or not.
