In honor of her 79th birthday today, this playlist is Anita Bryant's 1968 album of classic hymns.
Thank you for posting this and the link.
I just listened to it.
Beautiful.
They still hate her.
Anita was one of the first top tier performers who lost their career to the angry mobs of Political Correctness. This happened long before PC was even called PC. It was an early lesson in how many gays of that time would declare someone a villain and others would immediately, passionately buy into that unproved belief. It was an early lesson in special interest lobbying.
I never heard any other singer speak of her at all since then.
“How Great Thou Art” is a favorite among Methodists, but it almost didn’t get into the Methodist hymnal due to its having been popularized by the evangelist Billy Graham. Seems the Methodist bigwigs didn’t want to include in their hymnal a song associated with the unwashed rabble who attended Graham’s crusades.
Yup, and we are still as docile as ever.

O Store Gud (oh, powerful God, aka How Great Thou Art)--Artur Erikson
I know. She’s a true example of a blacklisted entertainer/performance artist, not the Hollywood Ten.
True. They had to make an example of anyone who dared to stand up to the homonazi revolution in order to scare any other potential critics into quietness or submission. This continues today with their hatred towards Christian cake makers, florists, Mike Pence, etc. or anyone else who doesn’t march 100% in lockstep with them.
Some good news for her. Today, Oklahoma governor Kevin Stitt issued an executive citation declaring 3-25-19 to be Anita Bryant day in her honor.
Good one.
I like her recording of the Hawaiian Wedding Song:

which actually predates Elvis Presley’s rendition of it in
Blue Hawaii:

Also her rendition of Arrivederci Roma:

which predates Dean Martin’s more famous version of it:

You’re welcome.
Here’s a good Sunday school song she sang:
