Religion: Trump as the Good Shepherd protecting the flock

There is a simple way to look at the Border Wall. The Good Shepherd would do things to protect his flock of sheep such as having a fence to keep wolves out and the flock from scattering.

The sheep dog, with this analogy is like our border agents, protecting the flock as well.

The wolves are the drug cartels, human traffickers (Coyotes), and Terrorists looking to enter the US to blow up people (such as the 911 terrorists).

Though I am Catholic, I cannot understand Pope Francis' remarks on this. He represents the view of the bad shepherd.

If the cure of the world's problems is to migrate to the United States, then there probably would be 2 billion people that Pope Francis would like to see migrate to the United States. India and China alone probably have 200 to 400 million that would love to migrate to the United States. Africa, South America, Central America and Mexico would easily have 400 million plus.

The famed 'Great Wall of China' was successful for hundreds of years (I think).

So one is either in the camp of the 'bad shepherds' Pelosi/Schumer and company. Or with Trump as the Good Shepherd.

Pardon the vanity, but I believe people need to put Trump in the role of 'Good Shepherd' on his backing the wall.

Certainly, Great Britan, France, Italy, and Sweden have had trouble with immigrants as of late...

Good analogy.

I would liken it to Nehemiah's building of the wall of Jerusalem as being more appropriate to this particular occasion. Putting Trump in Jesus' shoes or in those of the pastor of a church is a little bit overboard to me.

No intent to offend.

He better deliver in 3 weeks, or else he’s going to look weak and strengthen the enemy even more.

There are many good analogies. Yours is good too. Together they identify who is who, and show how the world of lawlessness is dead set on destroying the world of truth.

The parallel with the Exodus is that Moses looked naive and weak, calling off the plagues one after another when Pharaoh had a history of going back on his word.

Then when Moses led the people out, they nonetheless groused and spewed invectives when they came to the Red Sea, because “surely” Moses trapped them there, and here comes the Egyptian army...

The Establishment of that day was over when the Lord appeared to Moses out of a burning bush, and Moses accepted his assignment.

It just took a while to play out, as the enemy became increasingly stubborn. In that way they were destined to go down in spectacular fashion, including Pharaoh and his army.

The “Deep State” neologism is kind of overused, but I do like it, as it reminds me of the Song of the Sea.

Exodus 15

19 For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.
20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
21 And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; *the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea*.

In cruder fashion, people say, “**** ***, and the horse you rode in on.”

Deep State. It’s like that. :)

I approve of a barrier. He should keep working for that.

BUT, applying a title of the Lord Jesus Christ to the President smacks of blasphemy!

Sorry.
