Irelands reliance on Muslim doctors in hospitals around the country may derail Government plans to roll out a national abortion service, a leading obstetrician has said.
Large numbers of non-consultant hospital doctors (NCHDs) working in maternity units outside Dublin are Muslims from abroad, according to Dr Trevor Hayes of Kilkennys St Lukes Hospital, who says he had been personally told that they have serious religious qualms about performing abortions.
A lot of the NCHDs a lot of the registrars and senior registrars and SHOs (senior house officers), so the front line would be from Egypt, Sudan, and generally Muslim countries, Dr Hayes told The Irish Catholic.
These would be in the country hospitals, and because of that they have frontline exposure, and they would have religious objections to be involved in the abortion service.
Dr Hayes, who was named Obstetrician of the Year in 2009 and 2013 by Maternity and Infant Magazine said a dependence on Muslim consultants is preventing Cavan General Hospital from introducing an abortion service, and that he suspects that conscientious objections from Muslims could block abortions from taking place in 12 of the countrys 19 maternity units.
Im not professing that I have huge knowledge about Islam, but they have religious objections to being involved in it, he said.
Dire need
According to Dr Ali Selim, spokesman for the Dublins Islamic Culture Centre, abortion is unacceptable for Muslims except in cases of dire need. In Islam abortion is the lesser harm, conducted only to save the mothers life if all other options prove to be useless, he told The Irish Catholic, adding: Life is Gods gift.
According to figures published by the Medical Council in 2016, roughly two out of five doctors registered to work in Ireland have trained abroad, with over three quarters......

Even on infidels?
So CATHOLICS in IRELAND of all places are unable to stem the abortion tide, but Muslim doctors may be problematic for the abortion lovers????
Muslims living in Ireland appear to have more moral sense than a majority of “Christians” & “Catholics” living there.
An unborn child is not an infidel.
Years ago, a Muslim OB in San Antonio made it perfectly clear that he would be happy to abort the baby I was carrying. So perhaps Muslim doctors get extra points from Allah when they kill infidels.
But their parents are.
I’m just saying, are these Muslim doctors only opposed to performing abortions on fellow Muslims, or on everyone?
Not on infidels.
On muslim women, yes.
So once the irish losers who write laws add in this exemption things will roll along just fine.
There are Muslim terrorists, just as the IRA are Christian terrorists. But most Muslims are pious folk who try to follow the Lord and ignore the crazy stuff.
So good for them, and shame to the Catholics who gave in.
The IRA are not Christians. Their aim is a socialist Ireland, which is atheistic by definition.
It may take muslims to save christianity.
Christians surrendered long ago.
The Irish abort their babies - the muslims abort the Irish
In a world without frontiers - pubs without beers!
If only Oliver Cromwell could have lived to see this.
I’ll give them points for this.
If Saint Patrick were alive today he might drive the Irish out of Ireland and bring back the snakes.
It’s pretty dark humor, but your post sure made me laugh.
>>>An unborn child is not an infidel.
Only in Islam, a child is born a muslim from the seed of a muslim father.
It’s okay to crush the God-given rights of Christian doctors, but we have to respect Muslims on the same issue. As usual, the anti-life globalist left makes no sense.
:)

IOW, the prognosis will suddenly skyrocket. This is meaningless, not least because Islam isn't really a religion in the first place.
